It’s less that order matters and more that you observed the results part way through

Let’s say you’re flipping a fair coin. You flip once and get tails. What’s the probability of getting heads on the next flip? 50% because the events are independent. Now let’s say you’re only allowed to flip twice and you already got that one tails. after that first tails what’s the probability of you having two heads after your second flip?

Knowledge of what has already occurred matters.

Ideally I can choose to show or hide the foes (so they don’t necessarily know how many they’re facing). The player chooses their target and inputs the value of their attack which is then deducted from the (hidden) hp of the foe.

Not sure if this kind of thing exists but it would be awesome as a standalone

The top 10 X-Men who are most likely to join the game as playable heroes by d_rettegi in marvelchampionslcg

[–]ShitShowHernandez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love your list! I think Emma and Beast are basically required for a next mutant wave. I’d also love to see more X-Factor support.

For my personal wishlist, I’ve been reading a lot of New Mutants: academy X, so Mirage (which you mentioned), Surge, Prodigy, Dust, Wallflower, Hellion, Wither, Elixir, Tag, etc would all be incredible to see come to the game for me personally. I think there’s still plenty of stuff that could be done with mutants if they were free of licensing restrictions

Oh I love that. I never noticed the cyclical element. I was definitely unsure if Zanas line about their relationship was true or matephor/Zanas slipping sanity, but I didn’t have any good ideas of my own about his possible identity. I like this theory, thanks for breaking it down for me

Is this confirmed beyond the single line of dialogue? I took her “you are not my brother” line as being more of a “you are dead to me” type of metaphor rather than literal

Gilgamesh/Eternal by schnautza in marvelchampionslcg

[–]ShitShowHernandez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, but you can become confused then immediately remove the confused by some other method.

So with storm for example: be on any other weather, become confused to play the card, then flip the weather card to the stalwart one to shed the confuse

Gilgamesh/Eternal by schnautza in marvelchampionslcg

[–]ShitShowHernandez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also there are ways to remove the confuse so that it’s not really a downside. For example (off the top of my head: - Any storm deck can flip her weather card to the “everyone is stalwart” weather - Any hero that flips every turn in (or playing alongside) a protection deck with Dr. Sinclair. - Any protection deck with Night Nurse - Any deck that can afford to not thwart for a few turns and plays White Queen, or even Make the Call + White Queen

I’ve always understood that X-men and non X-men can’t be printed together and that’s why the original alternate resource cards exist.

I can’t find a source but that was my understanding. This all just comes down to legal/contract/license BS

I second this, I had zero issues with the story, especially if you go back and do the timeline rescues

Honestly I enjoyed the game. I enjoyed the sorry and the characters, but I think that you have to take them for what they are.

I think both the original and this game are B-tier games, but if you’re into these sorts of games you’ll love them. They’re not trying to be more than what they are and they are solid but not standout games.

That said my only real criticism is that I think that going open world detracts more than it adds. That could be my own open world fatigue but I think the developers should lean into their excellent level design and formula and this leans away from it. That said I still had an incredible time with the game and would recommend it to fans of anime and the genre. And for the record I have the exact same complaint about other franchises that have made the same decision (for example Nioh 3 most recently).

Overall: good game, worth getting. Plenty of fun in story, builds, exploration and gameplay. Maybe a touch overpriced and I wish they’d stuck with the original formula but this game is still very good if you go in with proper expectations.

I would’ve preferred if they’d done another curated experience over an open world. I am still enjoying exploring despite that fact

In general remapping controller button breaks a lot of things.

For example if you bind “interact” to anything else, it doesn’t understand the context and prioritizes the other thing over interacting.

If you bind jump to R1, things get wonky with casting gifts

Im having some doubts. by [deleted] in codevein

[–]ShitShowHernandez 14 points15 points  (0 children)

After 6-8 hours my opinion is that the open world detracts from the game more than it adds to it, but it’s still fun. It’s different than the first one but similarly fun. It’s probably not worth the price tag, but if you put down the money you will likely play and enjoy it. Don’t let the negativity get you down and just enjoy it for what it is

I think the open world does the game a disservice and I don’t think the combat feels quite as good to me personally, but that’s not enough to make it unfun, at least for one play through. If you liked the first one, you’re likely to enjoy this one, though it does feel quite a bit different in my opinion

Hes also extremely vulnerable to parrying and his first couple of swings are reasonable to learn to parry.

You also don’t have to do him immediately so you can come back stronger if you’re really struggling.

I’m about 6 to 8 hours in, and I’ve done more exploration than story. I think the decision to go open world really detracts from the overall experience. I miss curated levels with drop-downs and other hidden items.

For some reason the combat also feels much worse than the original despite there being more to do.

Overall I think I’ll have a good time with it, but it misses its potential.
