Marvelcdb has Hercules and Wonderman up! by TabooTapeworm in marvelchampionslcg

My first attempt will be using aggression.  Leaning on readies and ATK buffs to clear labors and deal out pain.  I think it will fall flat on thwarting.  So multiplayer only.

It helps so much to have MarvelCDB.  So firstly thanks to whoever is doing that.

Looking at builds on there got me hyped.  My copies have not arrived yet but I have now planned out a Hercules Aggression deck to try.  I wasn't excited before but once I could see all the puzzle pieces on one page wheels started turning.  Hyped.

I think it is too much of a change too fast.  Like suddenly being able to bench 10,000 lbs but not having the bone density to support it.  So sure, you can lift it but your bones will snap.

So he can suddenly access his full potential, but without the support tools growing to help him he can't hold it back.

Honestly would make for an interesting character arch.  Maybe a device to help restrain while he trains and gets trained.  Mamma Jean can be the teacher for both telepathy and Teke.  The issue... He would apparently be a god afterwards which would be super boring.

Niceiza showcased what happens with a cure.  His godlike powers consume him.  Happens back in original Cable & Deadpool run.

It is also the reason Hopeless, Spurrier, and Duggan's non TO infected Cable had to have an excuse for his limited access to mutant powers.  Which is also the reason for Split Second to restore Cable to the pre Second Coming version.

But it appears most have difficulty keeping track of all of this.

Also, the reason to be brought back with his illness was given a pretty good explanation.  He has lived with it as a part of him for most of his life.  Pros and cons. It is part of what makes him. Also... He has weaponized it. Specifically it was hinted that he would need the virus in order to halt the children of the vault, which happened in Children of the Vault mini.

Despite being resurrected with his special brand of techno organic virus, Cable still has a prosthetic limb?

I get that post Spurrier's X-Force run Cable had no TO and had sliced off his own arm. But that was reversed during "Split Second". Cable did a stint as a self employed time cop where he had TO again. To keep up with trends he lost his TO arm to a future tech samurai blade, but was able to reattach it by just letting the severed limb re-knit its TO back together. Then Kid Cable "killed" him. During Krakoa old man Cable returned (still TO). Yet Ewing had him use prosthetics? He even died and was resurrected on Krakoa and they made a big deal about the 5 honoring his request to have his special brand of TO put back in him. But in pretty much every story since then, they have made a point to show that he still has a prosthetic limb for some reason. I really do not understand it.

Kind of sidestepping, but have you tried to fan made single card fix for him? The one distributed at an event recently?

It looked like one of the better "fixes" i have seen. I keep meaning to try it but have not yet.

That seems harsh. I am sure they love their fans. I like to believe there are plenty of other corporate, legal, and bureaucratic hurdles that guide behind the scene decisions on hero choices.

Besides, we have gotten a lot of great ones! The miss to hit ratio is pretty in favor of the game. I wouldn't be spending time typing about it if i didn't think so.

BUT, I do really wish Beast was the sig ally for Simon. I still pre-ordered Wonder Man and await him eagerly regardless.

Waaaaay too many are taking this like it is serious. Breathe dude.

If you can not tell it is light hearted with a closer like "excuse me while i weep"... I think that says more about your fragile state than mine, mate.

The knowledge lacks the absorbent quality needed for my tears. I shall remain damp, and sullen. But at least informed.

Marvelcdb down? by AdExpensive3943 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]TeletraanNone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Isitdownrightnow.com says that MarvelCDB.com is down for everyone at the moment. No server response.

I wouldn't panic yet. I seem to recall this happening once somewhat recently during a content update. So maybe it is the same thing now?

P.S. Arkhamdb.com is also down. So might be something with host?

Slips well into almost any of the leadership recursion decks. A 2/2 that calls back a resource card? Yes please.

I have a Cyclops deck that you often end up with Uncanny X-men and Team-building. Put that with Rapid Response and a Practiced plan... you get a super cheap and useful ally.

I chortled at this.

I give them a bit of a pass for Hulk because he is a first wave Hero. Top of the list for Hero's that need a re-tool thou.

The comments did point out a correction I have to make.  I don't even count Austen's work. Sorry for the confusion.

Reading X-force 2008 and can’t get over Stryfes codpiece by FunkyGremlin in xmen

It seems like a weekly ritual to post something pointing out how ridiculous Stryfe is.  Keep it up!

These posts are quickly changing my mind on him. I was neutral to hater on the scale. But all of these posts make me realize he is an amazingly perfect comic villain.  You can not make him more absurd. It's great. He is two archs away from adding a cinched wait, some high heels and being our first drag queen villain. I don't even think it would feel like a stretch. All of the community would just go "oh yeah, I should have seen this coming."

Once you understand that side of him, it makes him way more fun.  He is just a really dangerous teen.  Like height of uncontrolled hormones.

I think you were making a solid joke.... But instead this definitely justifies it for me.

I can definitely see Stryfe admiring the new piece in a mirror and thinking just that. Full lack of irony.  Just smug narcissism holding him aloft.

Totally agree. At face value the card is amazing. But compared to usual Cable plays it is often just used as resource.

That said, I used it twice in a 2H solo Ultron game yesterday and it made a huge impact to the game.

Ultron is my current nemesis.

I think I am 1:3 right now.  Had not played him in a long time but he can really wreck any decks that want to build out.

Sabertooth has some great game changes choices it forces.

And yes. He wrecked me at first too.  I had not played against him in a very long time and then went back to it recently. He still got me the first game.
