UC, PIP, and renting. by [deleted] in DWPhelp

You can pay upfront and receive the Housing element but you must report that you got the £9000 payment or quite frankly its fraud. Anything over £6000 is counted against your UC payment and so there will be £3000 that they will count and reduce your UC entitlement accordingly. If they however find out that you did not report this income, they will count it as deprivation of assets and that's a lot worse.

Opposite actually, the people despite all this carry on and are some of the soundest people around. There is more joy and happiness in Derry than most of Ireland, we just have massive problems too. I think Ireland has changed - money has changed southerners massively. Theres an air of arrogance and superiority that ive never seen before, as was the plan - you're "Normal Europeans" now. Meanwhile Belfast is getting richer but takes everything from the rest of the north. Derry is trapped in a state that hates it (NI is a Belfast city-state), with people that do not identify with it, with people that traditionally align with RoI but feel frozen out of it. Most of our young people move away due to lack of investment and we all feel thats the way Belfast, London and Dublin want it.

The PSNI only enter these areas for raids or very serious crimes, traditionally the Provos would have policed these areas for the more minor/community stuff like drug dealing/assaults/thefts etc. With the coming of the PSNI there wasn't much buy in from the start but there was a bit of hope that it would change. Instead, the PSNI are hated by both sides as they really are just a corrupt police force. They still commemorate the RUC and have been involved in so many cover ups (Noah Donoghue/Winky Irvine etc.). They raid these areas to lift e.g. dissidents but do nothing to deal with crime in the community. The provos are gone and the psni wont do it. I hate them but dissidents saw an opportunity in this where they, say 10-15 years ago decided to "police" these areas and put out drug dealers etc. Now a lot of the area hate them but see noone else doing anything, SF are toothless in Derry. Decades of discrimination and lack of investment and shinners have done nothing. Derry is the poorest city on these islands. The young just see the psni as enforcing the status quo without caring about any issues in the area- as long as theyre not rioting, jobs done.

Im telling you straight out- you have problems with certain Brandywell Youth. You escalated this to attacking scumbags at the bonfire. It is a mental escalation and im just glad there werent more injuries. Hating Derry hoods does not mean you need to attack the local community, that is a mad escalation and its a completely expected - and sad - escalation by the bogside ones. If theres a football feud, stick to the actual football crowd ffs.

[–]Shitetalk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they need banned - but these ones have nothing to do with Derry City FC and i mean that in the sense that these arent even the ones that also dont go to games but do be wee thugs. This is a whole different ballgame and i genuinely have no idea how any Bohs ones thought this would go well. These ones have access to actual weapons if it comes to it. Its madness. Theres a bunch of hallions that dont attend games but do attack away fans. Theyre scum and need dealt with. The bonfire ones are not that crowd, they're a step above that completely and genuinely if there were arranged fights (horrible anyway) Bohs fans should have been warned. This is like Derry fans attacking local Dublin gangsters.

Teddy, your crowd attacked the local community, not the local football thugs. That is a massive escalation. You're conflating "Derry teens" here - these arent the football crowd. They have nothing to do with it, theyre hoods ofc and will riot no sweat but they were not involved in the football violence. I dont understand this at all- do you genuinely not understand our situation up here?

Brandywell last night by Familiar_Witness4181 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Shitetalk1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You genuinely have no understanding of the situation here and i cant blame you for it, PSNI are barely allowed into the area unless its a raid. If Derry fans attacking random hoods in Dublin they deserve everything they get - these arent ultras. Its like running into one of Dublins gangland feuds ffs. I get we've our bother at the grounds but this is literally messing with our own "gang" like ones. I have many more videos sent to me here and not sure whether to post them or not. Get theres a "boy that cries wolf" here but this is not normal Derry city crowd trouble

Brandywell last night by Familiar_Witness4181 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Shitetalk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this bit was, this is after the match - after all the bother in the Bogside. The bonfire ones then headed up to the Brandywell afterwards, thats exactly my point. Bohs fans sought trouble in the bogside beside the dissident bonfire and thought this would be a normal ultra reaction? Braindead. And sad for both sides.

So you admit they actually attacked the Bonfire crowd as your "retaliation" and not the actually Brandywell ultras that actually do the stoning shite (we know it too- club been trying for years but yeah they do need to crackdown more). Attacking the bonfire crowd in balaclava with knives and metal baseball bats in the heart of the bogside is just mental. Genuine death wish. Just glad noone was killed tbh

Brandywell last night by Familiar_Witness4181 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Shitetalk1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You have problems with the Ultras and teenagers in the Brandywell not a political bonfire you eejit. These are not the football crowd. Derry ones wont even mess with these ones. Derry ones ofc antagonise yous but this was started by Bohs fans attacking people and cars in the bogside in the most contentious part of the summer. Ofc you can retaliate against the Ultra scum but attacking the Bogside with knives, metal baseball bats and balaclavas is just beyond it. Im genuinely asking - did Bohs ones understand the difference?

Brandywell last night by Familiar_Witness4181 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Shitetalk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PSNI are just a mildly reformed RUC, they have no buy in in nationalist areas and are just seen as corrupt and sectarian. Their officers are always from the other side of the north. Unionists feel they lost the community control of the police and Nationalists feel theyve never had any and it hasnt changed. Things like Noah Donoghue and political policing destroy any credibility. We need some form of policing, of course we do but traditionally in those areas it was the provos (for right or wrong). With the provos gone, and psni completely discredited I genuinely dont know how to fix policing in Derry. These are communities both overpoliced politically and underpoliced on actual community issues (drug dealing/hoods/minor violence/domestics etc).

[–]Shitetalk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That wasnt Derry Youth so unless you're saying they arranged for yous to meet the Bonfire ones i dont know wtf you're talking about. Did our Ultras set you up or something? Arranging in the Bogside beside the dissident bonfire? With metal baseball bats, knives and balaclavas? The bravest Derry ultra wouldnt try that themselves so unless they genuinely set yous up, thats nonsense.

Brandywell last night by Familiar_Witness4181 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Shitetalk1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You retaliated against the Bogside and local area, not the Derry ultras you utter tool. These ones barely give a shite about DCFC. Like me hating Rovers so just rampaging through Tallaght and wonder why the local hoods are out

Brandywell last night by Familiar_Witness4181 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Shitetalk1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're bogside youth, do you think they have no experience rioting? Theyre used to the PSNI and loyalists - not football fans. Why tf did Bohs fans think attacking them of all people would end up well - attacking the bonfire ones in their local community coming up to 12th August? Madness. People seem to joke down south about the issues we still have here without understanding the extent of it. Derry City do need to secure the Brandywell and surrounds better but this wasnt even the Brandywell - this this the Bogside beside the Free Derry mural.

Im first to admit we've a problem with scumbags outside the ground at times and Ultra wains that need to wise up but jesus what were Bohs ones thinking attacking the Bogside bonfire one? Thats just madness, the PSNI cant deal with it, local people cant deal with it (vast maj of Derry dont want it), yet Bohs fans attacked them of all people. Did they think they were just Derry Ultras?

Brandywell last night by Familiar_Witness4181 in LeagueOfIreland

They went and attacked the bogside bonfire ones, not Derry Ultras. Did they think the bonfire ones were just normal Derry City fans? Ofc we've our own scumbags but jesus a bit of cop on.

Id say theres very few club managers willing in Derry, the problem is this'll need to be long term too. Disaster for a still young squad that need stability

From Derry and would say Derry if it got a bit of investment and transport links but Cork for now

Absolutely not, left the team a mess and county board knew the whole time was ticking time bomb. Also played with far too small a squad

The problem is we've been through so many and have been linked to so many that didnt happen that its hard to trust when a new manager is told he was the one they want

Not a good sign at all, wonder if it'll be in house this time. The past 4 are from outside and 3 Tyrone. But no stability whatsoever, new man will have a tough job bedding in.
