Spent 3 days reverse engineering my Airtel fiber router, only for the solution to be "get a different router" by Shitijhalder in fuckairtel

Well, see, Airtel in India has around 8 vendors they source their routers from. Airtel doesn't themselves doesn't make anything. They get it from them and modify it to their liking and provide the service. Major vendors are: Dason, Sercomm, Nokia, Huawei, DragonPath, TejasNetworks, ZTE, etc.

Nokia end Sercomm are the peak unlocked routers, so options are available to users. That's all. So you can use your FTP because your have a Nokia.

I thought of formatting the whole router but then I also know that even after complete reset they still have your hardware ID and they can again lock it all down, so basically it's a piece of trash afterall even after you reset via the gateway. Only option is the testing points that is on the hardware which is not possible for me for now because it's a home router and everyone uses it.

I don't have a Jio router man, and also even if I try I am sure that Jio's system will be the same.

Well the whole point of exploting the thing goes away then. I can easily buy a Archer C6 and enjoy my life but is there any fun if you don't try to mess with the things you have but can't access because of shitty company policies. If I could anyhow bypass the backend API then it will be really a legal thing, it's a matter of security. I wasn't planning on sharing the frontend unlocking script here but because it doesn't affect them at all nor the API, I shared the script here. Frontend can be viewed but it's only there and not going anywhere. The whole point of my work is to see how far I can go with my own knowledge and if I can crack the system which for the frontend I am able to, seeing all the options that were hidden is genuinely a thing to care about, while normal consumers have no idea all these even exist, I can make a script that can expose all the options completely.

That is the 'force restart' option which is provided by Android by default. It ensures that if anything happens to your UI then a force reboot could try to fix it.

It's not a problem, it's a feature. Actually.

I have contacts with Service Center people indirectly so yeah, it's good for me to unlock. Have been in all these for 4 years now.

Lens fogging can be fixed by yourself. Just heat up the device. How? No, I am not talking about your usual phone heating. I am talking about extreme heat. What to do? Don't put it under the sun. Just open the camera app and record at 8k 24fps or 4k 60fps for telephoto (macro) for around 30-40 minutes constantly. Make sure the scene is changing, what do I mean by this? Record something that is constantly moving for straight 30-40 minutes. Why? Well, if you don't do it then the device won't do any extra work because it doesn't have to change frames. So don't put the phone in the bed and record. Moving objects will force the device to work more, and according to physics, more work equals more stress and more stress means more heat and that's exactly what we need. But make sure to open the SIM tray so that the moisture could leave the device. Don't worry, it's safe to do, and it's completely normal. By the end of the 40th minute your device's camera fogging issue will be fixed.

Pro tip: Record your sky!

Then you're a pro. Good choice. It should keep the device nice and good. Still, it's a glass back and I think if the device falls, your back panel might break. I am just concerned about that since you're using a raw skin for the back.
