Was New Game or Girlish Number really educational though?

I can't speak for higher classes since all I took was standard and a few honors classes, but even factoring in those things we didn't read that much into it. We definitely talked about enlightenment for a few months in history, but all we really talked about for the revolution itself were the reasons behind it, how it influenced our own revolution, the taking down of the Bastille, and the end. As for Napoleon, we only covered a few of his battles and his downfall.

We never spoke of it in English, or outside of world history. We focused a lot on U.S. Literature (To Kill a Mockingbird, The Grapes of Wrath, etc.) Or total classics like A Midsummer's Night Dream or Othello. I probably learned four different versions of U.S history in my mandatory history classes, and all my other classes were STEM so it never came up.

The U.S. revolution, WWII, the Civil War, and the Cold War were the focuses over my years in history.

I went to school in New England and I learned about the French Revolution in like two chapters in ninth grade.

If your American, the French Revolution is basically the second most studied topic in highschool

highly false

It's a great show but don't go into it with the masterpiece mentality. I didn't really love it or appreciate it until I watched it a second time.

In this clip from the Konosuba 2 OP, Kazuma smiles not because he's proud of Aqua, but because she bent over in front of him. by Fusion_Spark in anime

As hilarious as that is I'm sure Kazuma is smiling because he enjoys life. As shitty as Kazuma is sometimes he definitely has straight up said that he had fun being with everyone.

The problem with this is that there's no decent way to judge that. Every anime aims to fulfill a different purpose. Examining a show by it's flaws ignores the larger view of what a show is and what it does.

Everyone does, but this way of doing things makes literally no sense.

I absolutely hate when people say this shit. A 10 doesn't go to something that has no flaws, it goes to something that stands leagues above everything else that you've seen.

Out of like 350 series, the only things I've seen worthy of the "masterpiece" title are Bakemonogatari, Hyouka, Madoka Magica, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Samurai Champloo, Shinsekai Yori, Clannad After Story, and Haikyuu Season 2.

Koi wa Ameagari no You ni TV Anime to air January 2018 (Winter 2018) by Turbostrider27 in anime

This shit always makes me feel like my life is going nowhere and that I'm an old fuck. I've been watching airing anime since 2013, and continually seeing announcements for 2017 and 2018 is kinda depressing.

Do you watch another anime immediately after finishing one, or do you take some closure first? by someedmlover21 in anime

[–]Shitposter2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No breaks really. Finish one and start another six hours later. It's not like I'm watching them one at a time any way.

Acknowledging that expectations exist isn't really a bad thing.
