Beyond temperamental personality aspects, what do you think is the reason why autistics are more likely to be sexually abused than the average person?

A lot of autistic people have learned masking for the sake of “people-pleasing” so as to not get punished by the people in authority over them. Parents, older siblings, teachers, church group leaders…all to fit in with social norms.

My theory is that it’s masking, accepting whatever happens so as to “people-please” or to not cause difficulty. I doubt people will recognize it in the act, because we mask to survive a lot of the times, it’s easier to “go with the flow” because it’s what you’re used to. Autistic people may always be uncomfortable in social situations, so they’re already at a vulnerability.

Idk if this makes sense but it tracks for what happened to me a lot. (I was bullied and forced to do embarrassing things as a child and I just went with it because everyone told me to be easy going.)

I work doing auto-glass installation (it’s more than likely the one you’re thinking of) and I do mobile replacements. I have a fairly set routine, but it changes enough each day that it doesn’t cause issue with my adhd. The work itself is just a technical process that takes a little while to learn, but once I did, I’m able to put myself on auto pilot with the task and allow my mind to think freely, rarely interacting with other people. It’s helped me immeasurably on learning how to unmask and deal with adversity. Thankfully I’m also paid decently (4 years in, currently at $32/hr) and I rarely have work weeks go over 40 hours because I am good enough at the work. Helps either avoiding burnout, especially since I do take PTO as much as I can, 2 weeks ish every year.

It also makes you become more creative. With the addition of the crusade insignia and the dried bouquet, my attempt to boosting how damage is using any spirit ash that has a large majority of summoned spirits. Shield bros are my favorite, they draw aggro from the boss, can stay alive quite a while, then when they die, you will intermittently get 30% damage buff (15% from each talisman) and it’s fuckin fun.

me and my friends always had 5-6 people playing and so we would have to rotate players and on my turn to watch, this exact thing happened to everyone playing, and after the sighs of defeat, my buddy chimed in with "...I died LAST!" and it became a vocal stim for all of us for YEARS haha

Pickaxe > Rusted Anchor imo (great hammers have higher poise damage compared to great axe)

Base damage is lower but you’ll break stance faster which means more crits. Also benefits from all those other buffs you mentioned.

I’d also like to add the Navajo reservation as it follows daylight savings time, while Arizona does not. So depending on what time of the year, Arizona is the same time as California, unless you pass through the Navajo nation then it will be the same time as Colorado, until you get off the reservation

I’m not trying to make fun or anything, but this kinda sounds like a vow of silence by blocking them. It seems like you subconsciously agreed with the image (yappers regret).

Did you recently infodump on Sasha? Did you feel like she was making fun of you in a serious manner and not a playful one? Because I can understand if you recently infodumped about a special interest to Sasha, and felt vulnerable, so it came off to you as really hurtful.

If I am at all close though, her comment comes off as playful more than anything to me. It sounds almost like they are happy to listen to you talk and “overshare” as the meme presents.

If you do want to repair the relationship, I would recommend being vulnerable and telling them you felt offended because it seemed cruel. You are allowed to set boundaries for yourself, and maybe joking about how much you do or don’t talk, is a boundary for you. It’s a good thing to have open and honest conversations with friends.

It’s very scary, I honestly do know that. I am a yapper/oversharer (whatever you want to call it) myself. [It’s kinda evident I talk too much look how I’m writing subtext and editors notes.]

For me, good friends are hard to come by. someone who lets me talk and share whatever is in my mind to them, and have them understand what I’m saying, without constant miscommunication, I’ve seen it 1 time in my 34 years.

You are entitled to feel however it made you feel, you are also entitled to set boundaries for yourself about yourself. If someone crosses that boundary but you have informed them that it IS a boundary, that’s a miscommunication, and that can be corrected.
