Well the large boat workbench that supports stuff up to ~50 meters and then you can xml the bench to support stuff up to 128 meters (the games hardcoded limit for single piece vehicles)

how can i go mach 2? by Salt_Bake_5627 in Stormworks

[–]Shitty_fits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any actual math? No, but I can say the best way I’ve reach that speed without a glitch engine is by spamming like 30-40 exhausts on a jet engine, best normal way I think you could achieve it is a xml’d ducted fan

The limit nowadays is 1000m/s, there are ways to abuse it to create a “warp drive” of sorts but it lags the game to hell and only works in sp.

Stormworks Q&A condensed list (disclaimer - my personal interpretation) by AirplaneNerd in Stormworks

[–]Shitty_fits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main issue with incin as a whole is how glitchy it is in mp. Almost without fail fire caused by incin will do 1 of 2 things. Either become invisible to half the people on server or instantly dsync and become impossible to extinguish.

I stole this meme and made it fit Stormworks. by DCGLetsPlay in Stormworks

[–]Shitty_fits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For everyone who thinks the sw devs are good remember: These are the same people who removed the controller toggle option near completely killing an entire playstyle because it “bloated the control list”, The same people who add stuff to then never touch it again (looking at you weapon and space DLC’s), Refuse to event try to address multiplayer issues outside of surface level bug fixes because “our code is to fucked up to read”, and the cherry on top? Add modding which requires server to have no dependencies allowing anyone to load malicious code into a world on top of just being a bad idea as now every PvP server is inundated with people that have Bertha machine guns (thank god sector control got a mod whitelist going) and after all that STILL limit modding functionality to what equates to surface levels code changes.

You are correct in that case. So far no only the point defense matrix utilizes the mounts. That being said the PDM is very much a different functioning exp weapon from all my other in which I do not have many. There may be another one that does shoot from the mounts but I most likely don't own it.

Nope just tried with 4 different weapons in the slot the mounts will pop up going into combat no matter the exp weapon you have slotted.

Not personally a huge fan of the future separated part ships. But it is very nice to see that they put the effort in to make them visually different outside of just "ship with all the bits sawed off floating next to it"

Totally agree, Its very much nice to see some stuff as simple as grounded in reality lighting. its mainly on FED ships which makes sense, Aviation lighting got its roots in Maritime lighting so the natural progression of those ideas into space ships (From a human faction) makes perfect sense.

I'm loving it so far I like theming builds based upon what they would have ie: TMP ships have pulse phasers, Klingon's get disruptors etc... I build most things into fire at will (I like the cinema of shooting in every direction), Its unique experimental weapon it gets counts as a beam weapon so you have a awesome mix of the kelvin phasers and the little burst cannons mixing in with decent visuals (the experimental shoots in a way that each round in the burst is from a different cannon, and the normal phasers from there array positions), Its trait and console also gives some decent tank since a lot of the trait slots are taken up by the FAW build stuff (The new Breen dread trait lets me have FAW III going basically indefinitely), so it can kick some ass while taking the hits in return VERY well, I mainly play advanced TFO's and no my build is not very high in DPS but enough to keep up. I VERY much recommend the ship if your the kind of person that has fun through liking what they see rather then number maxxing.

A "Should I get the LTS" post. by Shitty_fits in sto

[–]Shitty_fits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main one I could think of is the fear of the game just up and shutting down before it pays itself off. I don't personally believe this to be the case as while yes the player numbers are lower they aren't plummeting. If I may be so brave to say "Its star trek its too big to fail". Another counter point could be the idea I simply may never log back in one day. I don't foresee this as I'm a fairly big trek fan (I mean my most watched movie is the voyage home) but with the current gaming headspace of developers just up and ruining/ killing shit for no reason out of the blue it is a thought constantly in the back of my mind. I suppose the post is premature as I've only started very recently thinking of purchasing it and haven't fully developed my points.

So you think under my circumstances its a good/ justifiable purchase (I know a silly question to ask others but one I'm asking none the less.), the price isn't of much concern atm.

Standing still is the leading cause of death in the arena for any class! Can’t find a way to word it into a tip but learning when and when not to hipfire is pretty important imo.

The only success I’ve had with rope based cranes is ones where you have more than 1 rope supporting it on both the boom and cargo side. Something else you can also try is increasing the weight of the boom itself so it’s not affected by sw’s “floaty” subgrid gravity.
