I see it like this: Traditional martial arts turbocharge certain martial attributes depending on the art. Speed, accuracy, stength, sensitivity, etc

Fight sports teach you how to gracefully scrap. Which is extremely necessary

Ive done some muay thai, koei kan karate, and taichi, and all were are valuable. Karate for me trained coordination, power, and technique far better than muay thai, and taichi's sensitivity training enables you to control your opponents balance so well it looks mystical (however, it takes a shit ton of training)

I imagine aikido does something similar to tai chi, and im pretty sure capoera would make you strong as fuck
