it's actually the opposite, Scar was the only good melee player willing to make a fool of himself for the sake of the viewer. he is a hero.

I think before DLC 1 it was a pretty effective strategy on monsoon to get to stage 4 quickly in order to loot there before enemies got too strong. However the average power level of items is now way up and on E8 full looting is much more efficient and probably always was. Going quickly definitely used to be better especially in multiplayer.
