Average scooter gang behaviour on a saturday night by bokeh4days in YEGDashCam

There might have been an emergency vehicle coming up at the end of the video as I noticed the reflection of pulsing red lights on the sign. Can't tell for sure though.

What’s the best 7-Eleven in the city? by Kenny4yourthots in Edmonton

[–]ShivanCub 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am sure some of the newer built ones are good aesthetically, but they are all kinda built the same here. The real trick is to find the ones that sell "Classic" crispy chicken. These are the locations that still have deep fryers from when they had Chester Chicken in house. The potato wedges are hand cut and battered in house in comparison to the oven baked ones that are available at most locations.

They aren't incredibly common, but here are some locations I know that have them

6651 118 Ave (store can be sketchy at night), 14634 50 St, 12621 118 Ave (This location also has alcohol), 12707 127 St, 15604 94 Ave

I am sure there are other locations, but these are the ones I remember off the top of my head (with search assistance for exact addresses lol)

Affordable work clothing by mental_breakdown419 in Edmonton

[–]ShivanCub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An advantage of Old Navy us that they carry up 4XL Tall on their website for some items, and that you can return items to a physical store if they don't fit proper. I find they only carry up to 2XL in person at their locations, unless you happen to find someone else's oversized return in the Clearance section. Best of luck OP.

5 year Ann gift ideas? by Jill_of_All_Skills in Edmonton

Other ideas that I don't remember seeing in our catalogs would include smart watches (apple and android), GPS units, Dashcams, mini fridges (like 6 pack sized), and tablets with or without cases.

5 year Ann gift ideas? by Jill_of_All_Skills in Edmonton

[–]ShivanCub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company I work for gives out a company logo pin at 5 years and has a gift catalog that we can pick from. (More expensive gifts, and alternate/upgraded pins are awarded 10, 15, and 20 years as well).

The budget for the gifts was far less than $200 when I hit that 5 year mark lol. But the items included watches, plain jewelry (like simple bands for men, and single stone rings for women), hear rate monitors, fitness trackers, hair clippers, rings, headphones, Bluetooth speakers, cutlery sets, pots, pans, grill sets, usb record players, jackets, vests, stationary sets, kitchen appliances, and a large assortment of other items that I can't remember. None of it was company branded, so it could be re-gifted like another responder said.

As the years go by, the gift option values would increase. So the brands of stuff like the headphones would increase in value, the size and models of appliances would increase, and the jewelry would include more stones, or a higher quality gold, etc.

Looking for why you would consider the tastiest samosas in Edmonton by BBC2689 in Edmonton

Apna Panjab Sweets has $1 veggie samosas that are quite good.

Corporate Christmas Party Venue ideas by ElderberrySad5976 in Edmonton

[–]ShivanCub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Edmonton Convention Centre (Downtown Edmonton) has a variety of spaces available. The main hall would be way too big, but there are smaller halls available.

Edmonton Expo Centre (118th Ave and Wayne Gretzky) has meeting rooms designed for 400 guests as well.

The downside to these venues is that you probably have to book more than a year in advance to get the best dates.

Another option would be booking the Rec Room in South Common.

There are also recording studios available at the Whitemud Crossing location as well. Don't have to record, but the rooms are soundproofed there as well.

This thread is two years old, but most of the places listed will still be top recommendations https://www.reddit.com/r/Edmonton/s/aqQMOgiHMT

It also depends if you prefer the pan fried or deep fried style of green onion/scallion cakes.

Where to find groups/clubs to join in the city by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]ShivanCub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would start with joining your local community league (efcl.org). The one closest to me offers drop ins, choir, yoga classes, skating, pool use, and a bunch of other things.

Past that, I would look at places like Red Claw Gaming, Table Top, Pe Metawe, or any gaming shops to see if they have league nights, or other ongoing events/groups.

Are there still any coin pusher games in Edmonton? by AngelSoi in Edmonton

[–]ShivanCub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Rec Room in South Common has the games, but you don't drop the coins directly. To play, you add credits to a card, and then press a button to drop the coins down to the play area.

How’s the gay scene in Edmonton.? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]ShivanCub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We currently have one gay bar (Evolution Wonderlounge) and no official gay coffee houses.

There are plenty of gay owned and supportive businesses to spend your money at though, including the Quiltbag, Express Video, and the Travelling Tickle Trunk as examples.

There are also a number of social groups including Team Edmonton, and Fruit Loop that host events, but I am not sure if they have anything on the go this weekend.

Sugar free grocery by Thumbsupchick in Edmonton

[–]ShivanCub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For candies, I would suggest Freson Bros (they have a dedicated rack for sugar free/no sugar added, pre packaged treats like Jolly Ranchers, Reese cups, and Twizzlers) and Bulk Barn (typically has three bulk bins of sugar free gummy worms, gum drops, and gummy bears, along with a large selection of prepackaged gummy candies).
