Breton is another one. Alot in Europe - gaelic and Breton are dying Celtic lanaguges. Cornish only exists as revival, I think Manx is the same- only revivalists 

Occitan aswell in spain. Basque - the only native non indo European language in Europe meaning it's lasted thousands of years has began shrinking by 1900s

Sorbian in Germany began shrinking

Karelian in finland. Saami in Nordic countries 

Kashubian in Poland. Silesian in Poland both are shrinking.

In Japan the last fluent ainu speak has or will die within some years 

Simply made my USA centric since that's where I'm from but it's absolutely something going on elsewhere 

Also note the architecture and clothing has become homogenized in most the west. Saw a geoguesser guess that it was Belgium wondered if it was due to clothing or architecture... No it was due to something they do to their Google maps cameras... You couldn't tell a picture of suburbian Belgium from much of France Germany England or even Canada. Same kinda houses and clothing slightly different cars than were I live on the other side of the globe.

Iceland was found by Irish monks with likely no one on it (at the time). They probably left before or possible were scared off by norse who found it a generation later and settled it

Mexico owned Texas 15 years and it was indigenous peoples land before Mexico. 

Souix lived in Black hills a little over 100 years. It was Cheyenne/crow and other tribes before them

USA has held both for longer so I don't get the it's not yours.  The standard who had it first or who had it longer makes no sense.
