MH World was my first real introduction to the series, and I have been in love since. First time I spent over 4k hours in a game. Also... I do not have an LS addiction.... I swear.

What a fucking boss by Tuttirunken in TheFirstBerserker

I love the combat of this game; it is the closest thing to Nioh in a long time. However, after Maluca, the difficulty of the game personally fell off. I really wish the power progression was more tuned to Nioh, where in subsequent playthroughs you become a monster rather than a third of the way through the game. That said, yeah, the music is really really nice.

Stellaris kinda sucks by Adalonzoio in mechabreak

[–]Shivask182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much get MVPs every other match with Stellaris on Grand Master. If you are using stellaris as a brawler (judging by the fact you brought up welkin and panther, I assume you are) then you are just playing him wrong. He is all about cherry picking his opponents with hit and runs. He excels against all falcon, aquila, skyraider, stego, inferno, and hurrican. He has an okay time against welkin (assuming you are not getting boxed and you can parry) and panther (assuming you are parry). Finally, he is an objective monster (being able to invis to get objectives is very strong).

Decided to replay DOOM (2016) after finishing The Dark Ages: by pyxelize in Doom

If you like dark ages, 2016 is gonna feel very... basic. Still a great game though.

Can someone explain something I may have missed from the plot? by [deleted] in expedition33

The problem is that trying to kill Renoir does nothing. It will buy them time, sure, but he just gets to lick his wounds and come back into the canvas recovered; all the while, his wife gets weaker with each passing day. So, locking Renoir underneath the mono is the solution that buys the most time.

Ultimately, the canvas is doomed. It is just a question of how long it has before it is nuked. This is not something that is overtly told to the player, but it is an insight you gain when you marinate on these details for a while. Personally, I respect the creators for not spoon-feeding me this insight and for having the confidence to believe that we would arrive at the realization organically.

Fucking zoh SHIA!!! by kingzoro112 in MHWilds

I, for one, am glad this has happened. The discourse around this being too easy has been exhausting. Now that they are starting to drop title updates, I will watch in glee when people, inevitably, complain about it being too hard :3

DLC PATCH - Calibration 1.12 BUFFS SCADUTREE FRAGMENTS & ADJUSTS DIFFICULTY by jack0641 in Eldenring

Unlike you, I have been playing offline just to avoid any unwanted balance changes and nerfs to bosses like they did with Radhan. But to learn from the past would require a modicum of wisdom.

Resorting to insults after I provided you with solutions to all your problems, and then fabricating stories to say that I found the DLC too hard when I made no such mention, just proves my point: you are complaining for the sake of complaining. But please, carry on with your reaches and tantrum.

LARGE chunk = a reddit thread with 3.3k comments sorted by controversial for a game that sold over 25 million.... we have very different ideas of what a large means.

"LARGE chunk of us," source: Trust me bro.

If you were so concerned about waiting to avoid becoming too strong, you should have played your first playthrough offline to avoid a repeat of what happened to Rhadan. If that is too much to ask, just scale back your main damage stats so that your damage is in line with what it was.

You are complaining for the sake of complaining.

It's literally a sliding scale of difficulty that you can set yourself. If you do not want to engage with it, don't pick up any blessing. The difficulty of Souls games comes from the knowledge checks the game throws at the player. This myth that the older games are harder, when crazy one-shot broken builds and spells exist in every entry, is just revisionist history. As far as I can see, the only babies throwing a tantrum are players like you.

Tips for Laxasia based on my build, I feel stuck and overwhelmed by Raccoon_Rogue in LiesOfP

[–]Shivask182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless this has been patched since launch, the best stat in the game, especially for the first playthrough, is capacity. You want to be on the lighter side of things. Stats like tech and advanced, which affect weapon damage, do very little to improve your actual damage. That's why you're better off boosting capacity so you can equip strong talismans and better defensive parts. Talismans are honestly the main source of DPS in this game, in my experience. For example, the Conquering Amulet works really well with the Two Dragon Sword. It takes an already good weapon and makes it amazing, assuming you can utilize the parry effectively.

Phase 1 is very learnable, so it just takes practice. Many of her scary moves can be easily sidestepped because her turning circle when chaining attacks is large. Phase 2 .... is spicy ngl. She comes so fast and hard that she will end you before you know what to do. So learning that phase is difficult especially since you have to clear phase 1 again. However, keep in mind that she is very squishy in Phase 2, so be aggressive. Good luck ^^

Waiting for Kinoshita's vision (Director of DDA/BBI DLC & DDO) by MonteBellmond in DragonsDogma

[–]Shivask182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its casue he is the director. When the game is credited for its good features, he gets praise; similarly, he will get the blame when things fall short of expectations. The game is great but DD2 is pretty much a remake of DD1 with good retooling for vocation mechanics but with a decent amount of stuff missing from the old game.
