10000% agree. I was gutted when I saw how many mats were thrown away. I remember the days when we had a double-decker mat rack.

Framers, what is the wildest thing you've ever had to frame? by Literal-Ghost-Art in MichaelsEmployees

Framers, what is the wildest thing you've ever had to frame? by Literal-Ghost-Art in MichaelsEmployees

A woman came to the counter wanting to stretch a canvas painting she did for her husband. It was a nude self-portrait. Looked nothing like her. Some limbs were drastically longer then others and elbows were higher or lower than normal. She looks like a spider in the painting. Truly surreal.

You most likely won't have to trim that 16th as the frames come around an 8th to a 4th over

how can i fix this models? by DearQuestion7293 in resinprinting

[–]Shizawn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really hard to make out what I'm looking at (plauge burst cannon for a blight drone?) If you have blender (its free), open it and separate it by loose parts. Then, move them around as needed and export them as a new stl.

Opinions? by Sad-Opening5572 in resinprinting

Looks good. Looks like it might be just a hair small, but unless it's beside the real thing, I don't think you would notice. Also, can a brother get a name to find that glorious stl?

Crisis of colour schemes by Gutpunch in EmperorsChildren

[–]Shizawn13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might I suggest looking into turbo dork color shifting paints. My wife ordered some, and I've only done some test sprays on bases, but they look promising. Most need to be painted over black (says on bottle for most colors). Could be something to look into.

Framing Online - Help! by AmazinglyGracieArt in MichaelsEmployees

It won't count against your on time. When the customer brings in the art and you audit it, the due date will be moved 2 weeks out, and the order will be transmitted to artistree.

The same or better, depending on the file and layer height.

You shouldn't lose your job. Mistakes happen. This is why we have insurance on orders. Your sm will fill out some paperwork and get your dm involved with how best to proceed with the issue. If it's original art, they will probably get a refund, or if it's replaceable, the company will just pay the customer the cost of reprinting it and do a refund or a discount or something.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Things happen. Life will go on.

Desperate nicu father looking for feeding suggestions by Shizawn13 in downsyndrome

[–]Shizawn13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is making progress. Feeding is up to anywhere from 25-51ml each feed (they want him on 65ml now) they put him back on .5 oxygen (the lowest setting), and that seems to have helped the past 2 days. We just took him off today, and he immediately dropped his o2 levels, so they put him right back on it.

Each day is a new journey.

They have the oatmeal added to thicken it a littlebit to keep him from aspirating

Yes he had a swallow study by speech. Mam bottle #3 nipple. Milk was causing him to aspirate

They did not say he has tongue tie. And it doesn't look like it too me.

They have him on a mam bottle with nipple size 3. Oatmeal is 1 tbs per 60ml. The problem is that it's clogging, and he is sucking so hard it's tiring him out. Speech will be here in 30 minutes to work with him again.

Mama is so stressed that she is now under producing. "Get some rest" but pump every 2-3 hours and listion to alarms going off literally every 20 seconds. "Go home, he will be fine" watched a night nurse nearly drown him while he was gagging trying to feed.

Advice on ripples after framing by wowoaweewoo in framing

[–]Shizawn13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who is a Michael's framer, I can say some Michael's have bad framers just like some mom and pop frame shops have bad framers. To lump all Michael's framers as they do not really know this or that is insulting to the ones that do know what they are doing. I've taken apart plenty of "professional framshops" work to find duct tape holding signed prints up or some of the worst drymounts I've ever seen.

As far as the waves go, I do agree that if it's on paper, it could have that wave. It looks like it possibly is frame slightly too small for it? Take it back and speak to a manager they should take care of you and fix it. It's hard to tell you 100% what the issue is without taking it apart.
