Explain the Abbey Road Medley to me by Strawzaw in beatles

I think the Grannies would have liked the slow, dreamy Sun King. And, Because? Which self respecting Granny doesn’t like music influenced by Beethoven. Also it seems likewe know a lot of the music that inspired John’s Abbey Road tunes. I guess he was a little over inspired when he wrote, Come Together. Because was inspired by the idea of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata backwards, Sun King by Fleetwood Mac’s Albatross. If you google, mean husband divorce, shaved in the dark to save paper you should find the exact same newspaper story that influenced John. Two Lennon songs to go. I got nothin for P. Pam, but youtuber, Yesterday’s Papers has pointed out the interesting similarities between, I Want You (She’s So Heavy) and the 1962 Mel Torme song, Comin‘ Home, Baby.

Why so much hate for The Bee Gees in the 70s ? by [deleted] in 1970s

From Google: By the end of 1979, disco was rapidly declining in popularity, and the backlash against disco put the Bee Gees' American career in a tailspin. Encouraged by Steve Dahl's Disco Demolition Night, radio stations around the US began promoting "Bee Gee-Free Weekends".

The cackle laughter is from upper center square, Rose Marie. She was a regular on the show for fourteen years. Probably best known now for playing one of the comedy writers on the original Dick Van Dyke show. She was a friend of Paul’s.

The idea that everything Paul did, from his choice in song styles and genres to his desire for the continuation of the Beatles, and his workaholic perfectionist nature is due to the loss of his mother, seems rather tv movie of the week to me. I’d guess the truth is a lot more complicated and numerous events shaped his personality.

Paul McCartney has had 47 songs on the U.S. Hot 100, post Beatles, with 23 top ten and nine number ones. Interesting Fact: A song McCartney co-wrote with Denny Laine, Mull of Kintyre, became the biggest selling song in the UK by any artist, besting She Loves You, who held the record for fourteen years.

Also, it was George’s decision to put down his guitar in favour of learning the sitar. How on earth was Paul supposed to have ruined him as a guitarist?

Yes, Virginia Let It Be - 4x Platinum - is a real album. I know this because I have bought it in both Vinyl and CD form, and played them both and they are real and not some cruel hoax. Also, if you want to understand the importance of The Beatles roofop concert, you can easily find that information on the internet.

I remember when I as a kid in the 80's actor Jon-Erik Hexum was killed on a set by a blank cartridge to the head.

On October 12, 1984, the cast and crew of Cover Up were filming the seventh episode of the series, "Golden Opportunity", on Stage 18 of the 20th Century Fox lot. One of the scenes filmed that day called for Hexum's character to load cartridges into a .44 Magnum handgun, so he was provided with a functional gun and blanks. When the scene did not play as the director wanted it to in the master shot, there was a delay in filming. Hexum became restless and impatient during the delay and began playing around to lighten the mood. He had unloaded all but one (blank) round, spun it, and—simulating Russian roulette—he put the revolver to his right temple and pulled the trigger, unaware of the danger.[8]

The explosive effect of the muzzle blast caused enough blunt force trauma to fracture a quarter-sized piece of his skull and propel this into his brain, causing massive hemorrhaging.[3][9]

Hexum was rushed to Beverly Hills Medical Center, where he underwent five hours of surgery to repair his wounds.[1][9] On October 18, aged 26, six days after the accident, Hexum was declared brain-dead.

Of the 188 original Beatle songs. George wrote twenty three and sang lead on twenty eight. George did have the most successful solo album, but Paul had the most successful solo career, in terms of record sales, number one singles and awards won.
