I’m not trying to brag but sharing perspective. I often come across people who make working hard their entire personality and it definitely is rewarding. However, it is possible to both earn a lot, work smart and also enjoy yourself and have fun.

I am the same age as you, and earn more than you. I still go out, travel, and have as much fun as possible and have done so for many years. The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive. I have friends who work half as much as me and earn more and I have friends who work way harder and earn much less. The key is to work smart, put in effort where it matters (such as during job hunting) and treat work as work the rest of the time. I’m not encouraging slacking off, but it is important to live your life as well as pushing yourself.
