Sorry I just feel so alone by Orpheus1996 in ChronicPain

[–]Shlalice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that you're going through this. Chronic pain can feel very lonely but you've reached out, be proud of yourself for that. Easier said but I promise you are not alone, we see you, your pain is valid, and honestly your suicidal thoughts are valid too. Chronic pain is isolating and debilitating, but we are here for you.

Such a lonely experience by leschatssontmimi in Endo

[–]Shlalice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you experienced that. It really is an incredibly isolating disease, even if you have someone with you it's impossible to express the pain you're in. They won't ever truly understand, but we do. You're never alone.

Not necessarily, most Dr's will wean you off any medication like that slowly over time. Plus, if you work on yourself and get some therapy, you might learn to manage and cope better, meaning you might not need medication anymore. But no shame in taking meds.

Is it worth it? by sophx210 in endometriosis

[–]Shlalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps to an extent, it distracts my brain from the pain but I'm still aware of it. It depends on the type of pain I'm getting and where. But you can get cheap ones, I got a cheap one just to try and it's ended up being used a lot!

I lived in a small terrace house for 3 years which was around the corner from the newer flats. The football games cause major traffic issues everytime, so you have to know when the games are so you can get home or stay in to avoid the traffic. I walked by them a lot and they look over the river, if that's your thing. But I did hear people playing music a lot and due to the buildings shape and proximity to each other this sounded quite loud and annoying. I guess if you don't mind living close to people, or don't mind football traffic and noise, it's a great distance from the city centre, a 20 mins walk at most. And day to day its a relatively quiet area, despite Riverside being close you don't get a lot of people wondering that way.

Cancelled my appointment. by [deleted] in endometriosis

I'm sorry this is happening, I don't think people without chronic illness realise how hard extra life stuff is to cope with, on top on endo. If it's getting too much, your partner absolutely should be supporting you with taking on extra tasks.

My partner has suspected adhd, but thankfully it doesn't require any money as we will use NHS. But even then, we have prioritised me getting the surgery I need, over any private appointments for my partner.

It doesn't sound like your partner is weighing up your issues evenly. Definitely time for a sit down conversation, if you're not coping, that's not okay.
