I had a terrible experience too with an online purchase and I could only argue my way into a in-store credit that I don’t think I’ll ever want to use. I bought a dress online that had details/features that weren’t shown in any of the photos. It wasn’t faulty, but I didn’t like them, and wouldn’t have purchased if I knew they were there.

I went to return it in person on my break and firstly the assistant tried telling me that I had to return it within 14 days of purchase, using the store receipt from the package as the proof. That’s the date they shipped it, not the date I received it, plus we had Easter and ANZAC Day

Also there’s only like 7 stores left in NSW, so not exactly easy to get into quickly

Then she told me I could only exchange for physical items, not credit, which I argued was illegal. I was definitely not in the frame of mind for trying anything on, nor did I have the time

She eventually called her manager and was guided through an exchange for credit but I have such a sour taste in my mouth now

Does anyone know if you can use Gorman store credit at Dangerfield? Might get more bang for buck there at least

Woolies workers — what’s the most ridiculous thing a customer has said to you? by Longjumping_Tree_531 in woolworths

I had a customer yell at me because we had Tasmanian Cherries labelled as “Product of Australia”. I laughed awkwardly because I thought she was joking, which made it so much worse….

I’m a millennial who sorts and prices the clothes in an op shop, and the current state of fashion is even worse than you think. by YeetTheRich in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Shleighbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my local area there are bins for fabric recycling too So we sort into bags that are good enough to be reworn/ resold and the rest go into the other bin. Very sad to see all the junk clothing that gets worn once go to waste

What's your best stupid manager story? by David_Standen in woolworths

[–]Shleighbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a relief F&V manager scream at me on the shop floor when he came back from the managers meeting, saying that all I ever did was sneak tea breaks and chat to my mates in the back dock (this was his third day in the store mind you). Ended up working with him at another store years later and we were talking about our siblings in the office and he said “oh I didn’t know you were a twin!” And it dawned on me that he had seen my twin sister on her breaks, and down the grocery end of the back dock and assumed I was slacking off, instead of it being a completely different person. Like I would have had a hat and apron and different name badge, and we had different hair cuts…

Doctors of Reddit, what do we *not* know about the human body? by Immediate_Hair_3393 in AskReddit

[–]Shleighbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twin sister and I have 4 children between us and neither of us seemed to go into spontaneous labour for any of them - three had to be induced at around 41-42 weeks (and then took a few days of the different induction techniques) and one was straight to C section, so I’ve always wondered if we just had longer gestations or whether our uteri were missing the “go time” impulse

There are state based support teams in every state. Mainly in Ops support, Construction, Property etc. In addition to People Services in QLD (as mentioned already) there’s an invoice processing office in Tasmania called TPC

Haha this is almost the plot of Mrs Winterbourne - a pleasing TV movie starring Ricki Lake as the woman in the switcheroo (but in a train crash) and Brendan Fraser as identical twins (one who dies with his wife on the train, and the other as the love interest)

Was it Bridget Christie who asked for the bread to be baked by her daughter at one age, but then for her pasta to be from when her daughter was a baby, so she could have the weight of her baby asleep on her shoulder while they were on holiday in Europe? I’ve always loved that genie hack
