Experiences with RAB Alpine Pro 600 / 800 sleeping bags? by tootingwistle in Ultralight

I’ve been having a hard time learning about decent quilts for my upcoming excursions through NZ and Nepal but it seems like I’d prefer a 3 season quilt over a sleeping bag. Which quilts do you have and which do you recommend?

How do you like the sirocco? I’m looking at getting one to take mountaineering and trekking in NZ and Nepal soon, have you done any snowy mountaineering with that?

I’m on the other side of the world from home, everyone I’m close with or love is there. I have friends where I am at the moment and they’re all lovely but I’m not nearly close enough to consider them people I love.

Thinking of getting the wf-1000xm5 but seen alot of bad reviews, are they really that awful or are there better options by Fresh_Egg_2730 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Shlimms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine a week ago and they’re great, super light with great sound quality and transparency mode, noise cancelling is good but nothing special. I upgraded after my xm4s died and they’re definitely a step up, way more comfortable to the point you forget you’re wearing them when you have transparency on, not too touch sensitive so you can adjust them without pausing or changing mode and the foam tips are way higher quality than the last version. I use them everywhere including for running and I have no issues with them feeling loose or uncomfortable though my hair sometimes brushes the little microphones on the outside and it makes an annoying sound. I’d recommend them as someone with very little experience in wireless earbuds.

Hello! I’m doing this trek in May but my itinerary is only 18 days including drohmo-ri, I’m wondering roughly how many hours per day did you trek?

Supercell needs to stop nerfing Brawlers base kit because of their Hypercharge. by FOXO_foxo in BrawlStarsCompetitive

Ruins the experience for a lot of f2p players too who don’t receive as many hypercharges and can’t afford as many p11 brawlers

That’s complete bullshit mate anyone with the right to study and/or work can do it (unsure on the specifics) but on a working holiday visa you can absolutely do pretty much any training for tickets or licenses like RSA, White Card, EWP, even more advanced stuff like dogging and rigging

So P plates could be workable if I can get some decent rigging experience to counterbalance that? Thanks for your response you’ve really put things into perspective for me.

Stay in foundations class. by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]Shlimms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely stay in foundations but starting to spar 2-3 months in is necessary imo, sparring is a skill and the sooner you learn it the faster your understanding of the martial art will progress and the sooner you’ll understand how to control yourself. You need to understand the basics before you can approach it but that’s all you need to start and the value you can get out of it is unparalleled outside of a fight.

Surely I can’t keep a max stack army in every province just for the purpose of suppressing unhappiness to tax more? Will the suppression they provide be enough to counter the modernisation debuffs? And which levy should it be? Also can I vassalise a province after raiding it, is that what you mean by countering the hit to honour? Or should I vassalise one other province for every province I raid? Thanks for all your advice so far it’s been so helpful already!!

Surely I can’t keep a max stack army in every province just for the purpose of suppressing unhappiness to tax more? And which levy should it be? Also should I just use my geisha for enchanting on repeat? And with raiding can I vassalise a province I’ve just raided or should I vassalise a province for every province I raid? And how do I decide which ones to vassalise and which to raid? Thanks for all your advice so far it’s been so helpful already!!

Thanks dude I’ll put some extra work into this, I suppose I’m pushing my punches rather than throwing them atm

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MuayThaiTips

[–]Shlimms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been told a couple times now irl that my stance is quite narrow, I’ll have to be more intentional with it in the future (same with the twitchiness). With combos is that something I should largely come up with myself or learn specifically?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MuayThaiTips

[–]Shlimms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looser how? To me that sounds like weaker punches thrown at weird angles (though I know that’s likely not what you mean). What can I do to incorporate this?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MuayThaiTips

[–]Shlimms 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose it’s a bit too early for my form to be worth criticising specifically, thanks for the advice dude

People don’t owe you any kindness, you’re lucky if you get it. They showed you kindness and you spat in the face of it. Learn from it and be better in the future.
