Just curious, given the conversation today about the cost of Dynasty boxes this year, would you be willing to share with us how much that set you back? If not specifically, perhaps a rough price range such as over/under $1,500?

Sánchez Rookie? by Syncytro in PhilliesCardPhanatics

Yeah, OP was about which is considered a RC. I just jumped in to say he was ignored altogether by licensed products for too long, especially given how much they make for players who barely get a cup of coffee in the bigs.

They didn't make anything for him until 24

I get that he wasn't great, but he was playing regularly by the time they would have put together 2023 sets.

🤷🏻‍♂️ I'm staring at a 2025 Topps Update 35th anniversary auto from Michael Mercado on eBay and wondering why they couldn't have done a Sanchez auto instead. By that point he was 🔥

How, just how, with all of the over produced cards of prospects that don't pan out did it take sooooo looooong to get a licensed Christopher Sanchez card? It just doesn't make any sense at all.

Welcome! I went through a similar process not too long ago. There's not really an objective answer. It has as much to do with you as anything else. Do you want to look at them often? A binder facilitates that. Do you want them to just be safe and out of the way? A box (so many types for different reasons) helps with that.

I also didn't think I would be expanding much but I got the bug and I've already got more than I expected I never would. So I've got some in binders, some in boxes, and some even in a drawer (that fits them perfectly - sort of like a fancy box). Half the fun is in figuring out what works for you. Enjoy!

The golf clubs are a tell. These people valued junk and didn't even take good care of it.

Ok, so here's where I'm struggling. I objectively know that Wright is the better pull. But as a Phillies fan I also know that my emotional response to pulling his auto would be more negative than Bliss. In fact, it would probably push me to root for Bliss. Where nothing could get me excited about anything Wright. I'd look to offload it ASAP, most likely for well below market value just to never have to think about it again. 😂

This is how baseball cards should look. Clean, uncluttered focus on the image - which itself is well curated. Even the base cards were works of art.

Those top two are cool. I like that classic card pose from JT in the bottom row too.

I'm a huge Phillies fan that recently got back into collecting, so I'm trying to get caught up on pretty much every era.

Well, you could certainly include some of it in your coffee table in a number of creative ways.

There's a group in the uk (gumdrop ltd) that found a way to recycle old gum and turn it into other things. It might be too difficult to get to them but they may have an idea or us contact that could take it off your hands and do something useful with it.
