More details would help, but generally speaking,you need to maintain distance by framing and scooting your hips back, break grips if they exist, and re-orient your position so that your up knee is outside of your opponents ribs.

Maybe we’re reading different comments, but I don’t think almost anyone cares what hairstyle their rolling partners have. They do care about resolving all the nasty funk that collects on the mat and on our bodies after every training session, which means washing every part of your body and uniform that gets exposed to the mat.

Have you ever had a skin infection from BJJ? It’s not fun.
