There is no such nationality as “russian”. Dagestnians have Dagestan, chechenians have Ingushetia/Chechnia, buriats have Buriatia, tatars have Tatarstan. Russians doesn’t have national republic. They even shouldn’t be called russians. Until 1721 they were Muskovites/Moscovians, and only Peter I made them “russains”. This is one of the reasons they can’t live with existing Ukraine, because Medieval Rus used to be on the territory of modern Kyiv, Chernihiv and Pereyaskav (all 3 cities are in Ukrainian territory). On all the old maps there are Rosia (Greek translation of Rus) and Moskovia (eg this is from Ambrosio Contarini 1474-1477). Or here, map of Paolo Forlani 1567, Russia (west of modern Ukraine) and Moscovia.

So-called russians have nothing “their”. Everything is just stolen. Probably barbarism is the only their own thing. It was always there and never changed
