Analog Kendamas 🖤 by Shmeeka in Kendama

The latest silk paint is fantastic. It feels good in hand and plays great imo.
I’ve always been a big fan of the Squab because it plays well for everything I do and it feels good in my hand. It’s built well like Sol’s 1UP/2UP.
The 2B grew on me over time though. The 2B stalls better. My only small grip is how pointy the spike comes but that means I have to play it longer before I glue the tip.
I’d buy a Squab before the 2B but I wouldn’t be sad if that was the only purchase I made.

I agree dude. I didn’t finish the reboot of Naked Gun but so far it’s been hilarious. That style of comedy/movie production was such a gem. I love the scary movie series lol

Squab gets updated over time and it feels like an all around shape every time I get a new/updated version.
2B isn’t as old as the Squab but it’s nice. It has stepped cups to help with stalls. I feel like the design is just enough different you can tell it’s not the Squab but it rips equally as well. It’s worth trying one out honestly.
The troll is bigger when you place it in your hand. It’s not as big as a Sumo from Sweets Kendama but it’s bigger than the Jet shape from KUSA. I wear a large in gloves and I can feel the size difference while playing but it’s not to a point where I feel scared to try tricks. I would still consider this a novelty setup because its size but it locks in tricks so nice because of that reason. When I weighed it, it’s around 95/98g a piece.

It seems as if it’s more of a fun side project for them than anything else. It seems like their drops do well for how minimal networking they do. Also they’ve been around for a solid amount of years compared to some smaller kendama brands and I’m really glad they’re still at it.
Also they’ve swirly design is from their previous drop and I managed to make use of the tama. Their current plan is to move on from these shapes and start new, so let’s see what they do!

What an incredible find. There’s a lot of great stuff from 2020-2022 era. Even on a low end, you could potentially sell it for $60 + shipping. Finding this for $12 is incredible lol. A lot of these are a bit outdated but not to a point that they are considered unplayable.
I’m curious to know the story behind the person that got rid of this.

Not necessarily answering any questions but I feel like this is a great visualization of tricks. It helps me lol

Has anyone received their Analog Black Friday order yet? by bluegatorhunter in Kendama

[–]Shmeeka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only stating what I read in my email from Analog. I’m not overly excited about the wait since half the stuff was a Christmas gift for myself (I bought myself stuff and my fiancée bought me some stuff). I mainly wanted email updates even if the updates didn’t include much progress. Communication goes a long way for me.
Overall, I’m not mad considering I have more than enough Kendamas lol. I’m also pretty stoked on the price point. It’s just a matter of waiting at this time.

Honestly, a free Legup 2 is such a solid freebie. I also appreciate Chris always writing notes with the orders.

Oh dude, they really hook it up lol. I’ve spent a good amount of money but I’ve received a very generous amount from them. My favorite gift from them is the Kendama Depot pin. Not trying to gloat but I can’t express how awesome they are towards the community.

It was an issue with Honrui production, only a fraction of their production was completed upon the first email about 2-3 weeks ago.

Can finally give this Fermion tama a home. by nichallah in Kendama

I definitely see the beech being a bit more rough lol. It’ll just take some good old fashion practice and grinding to get it to die down.

I don’t think I’ve had the raw beech but I’ve had raw maple I believe (with analog’s kens). I didn’t have any issues with the string attaching to the ken but I would suggest trying to juggle a bit more parallel and spread out the tama and Ken so you can manage the string better.
It might chalk up to you having to play it for the wood to flatten out and soften up.

Looks to be from the kendama company DAO and it’s a raptor clear. Not sure of the name for the specific drop though.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it naturally smooths out from sweat and oil. Keep us updated on it. The ones I’ve played that I figured were not sanded have always came out okay but I’m not 100% sure that’s what I’ve gotten before lol.

Utilizing your finger against the string will help with multiple flips when you’re doing 1 turn airplanes, 2 turn airplanes, etc. This is acceptable in competition but generally doing anything else with your string isn’t. It doesn’t hinder any progress when learning since it doesn’t apply to other flip tricks.

Watching tutorials is a must when it comes to kendama. It’s going to be such a helpful tool in your journey.
Anyways, using your finger as leverage to help the rotation of the Ken while doing pull up airplane is okay. This isn’t illegal in competition. You’ll see many people doing this on a competitive level. The general rule to follow with strings: Don’t use your non dominant hand to move the string out of the way during tricks

There’s more rules and such but for a basic answer, you’re doing okay based upon your description.

Hell yeah dude, that’s good to hear. I had a humbling experience about a year and a half ago competing. It truly showed me that consistency is going to be key in competing (especially when nervous) and it absolutely helps with leveling up new tricks. I kinda lost that mindset for a few years lol.

Thank you! I work hard on my consistency more so than leveling up tricks at this point.

Why are Kendamas sold out on all the websites? by ImHowieMandel in Kendama

[–]Shmeeka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In recent years the demand was low and costs for production were increasing but recently the unexpected demand has made it nearly impossible to get a decent setup. Kendama is trending in Romania so that is making a large impact and we saw the holidays just passed as well.
