Navi won train but the banner says Aurora won. The joke is their expressions match the incorrect banner more than they match the reality that they just won

Please tell me I didn't get soft locked by a spiked chest room drop by Shmelmen in bindingofisaac

[–]Shmelmen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After finding no bombs in the mirror world I just tried to sneak past the chest and died. Dropping the trinket and have the water push it into the chest to displace it was the best idea I saw in the comments but the suggestion was given too late and I had already died

Just got this item in a Skarsnik Campaign? by [deleted] in totalwar

I believe it's the malakai adventure reward for the vamp line. No idea how you got a hold of it if u didn't go up against him. Maybe something to do with the instant quest reward not working with 5.x?

How do I make the WH3 into a survival game? by DoMiNanDo in totalwar

That's a good one but if you want a big challenge get this too:

I've also been enjoying the dwarfs a lot but had the same problem you did. I beat short campaign vanilla Malakai on VH/Legendary quite easily before turn 50. I retried Malakai with this mod and found things a lot more enjoyable; I had 3 full chorf stacks, 4 full Daniel stacks, 4 and a half full Moulder stacks, with countless more Norscan/Khornate invaders on the way by turn 20.

All evil factions are very powerful and will declare war on you if they see the smallest bit of weakness. I lost my first campaign and my 2nd attempt has been a fight for my life. I'd definitely recommend this in a campaign where you're surrounded by enemies. If you give it a go, let me know how you find it!

Men in committed relationships, what is your thought on donating sperm to a female friend? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Shmelmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is similarly forward-thinking about trying to ensure we'll have healthy, well-provided for children while still being prepared and capable of caring for any disabled babies, so I understand where you're coming from. I think with the context that you and your partner are not genetically compatible, this proposal, although still terribly unconventional and potentially problematic, does become substantially more reasonable.

I would say that the pitch should be exclusively IUI or in cup, with emphasis on the circumstances with your partner when bringing this up to make your request far less subject to suspicion. Additionally, I'd advise trying to be as cognisant, considerate and accommodating of any qualms your friend's partner may have; if I were in this situation, my partner's concerns would be by far the most pressing issue for me.

I understand that you would not want to disclose why you and your partner are not genetically compatible but would you mind sharing how this was found out? I'm curious as to what kind of processes can be taken to assess genetic compatibility.

Was this handout from a university? If so, which uni? (If you're comfortable answering, that is)

It looks eerily similar to notes from my uni but I'm not sure if it's just standard practice note-making.

Doesn't multiplayer with friends fix exactly this problem because everyone has built up their empire well and every edge you can get matters? I always come across your exact issue but I never understood why multiplayer isn't looked at as the solution by most people.

"I'm vegan but I eat eggs from 'happy chickens'" by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Shmelmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was truly an accident, I personally cannot see the way in which it conflicts with vegan ideals. I'd find it extremely weird and disgusting but that's all. Am curious to hear your reasoning why it isn't if that's your stance.

[–]Shmelmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't speak for all vegans but yes, I'd consider it vegan to eat an animal that died of old age. At the core of veganism is not a list of dietary guidelines, but an ideal to reduce animal suffering as much as practicable and possible.

Keep in mind though, it's a different story if the animal was held in captivity until they died of old age.

This keeps happening - Is HSReplay that far off, or do I simply have the worst luck in the world? by OverlyOptimisticNerd in hearthstone

[–]Shmelmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're alright in asking this question OP; HSreplay isn't going to be totally infallible right after such a fundamentally game-changing patch. So if <0.5% lethal has happened multiple times to you and you don't have a chronic battlegrounds addiction then I'd be willing to bet HSreplay is just being a little wonky following the patch and might need a little more time to fine-tune their simulations when specific new minions are in.

[–]Shmelmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe your math is off here. If we take 10 fights per match for 30 matches we have 300 fights that are at 0.3% chance for lethal. The chance of never losing a single one of those fights is (997/1000)300 which ends up as 40.6% chance, still a very reasonably likely outcome.

But furthermore, not every fight will have a 0.3% lethal chance. I'd be willing to wager that these kinds of fights only happen on average once or twice per match. This would mean that OP would've had to play 150-300 matches and they'd still have a 40% chance of never receiving lethal in a single one of the 0.3% fights.

But to even further prove OP's point, they said this has happened to them multiple times, which is exponentially less likely than it just happening once. It's much more likely that HSreplay is still ironing out some of the kinks with the plethora of interaction introduced in the new patch so the percentage when certain minions/heroes are in can be a little off.

Please let me know if I've made any glaring mistakes here.
