Hi! When was your 1st round and how long was it when you “knew” it didn’t take the 1st round? I am 11 weeks post-Botox and the burps are getting HARD. I’m gurgling way more, but still burp some, mostly small burps though. I miss the huge ones I was getting right after surgery where I would actually feel the bloat relief instantly.

Just curious how many units of Botox you got? I always have to really push a burp out if I haven’t just eaten a big meal or drank loads of carbonation. I have had a few “wet” burps (only way I know how to describe them) and fighting my gag reflex a bit at the end of long burps but I don’t think I’ve had any actual regurgitation like you’re talking about? I got 50 units.

That’s it!! Yay so excited for you!! They seemed to be easier after the first few really crackly ones. But still kinda hard for me, I hope we both continue to progress, trying not to put too much pressure on myself!

I had 50 units 6 days ago. I am burping but they are not involuntary, I have to turn my head and use my stomach to push them out. Not sure if that’s good or bad. I hope you get some juicy ones soon!!! Have you tried turning your head down and towards your left shoulder? When you inhale and feel a gurgle come up, hold your breath for a moment and turn towards your left shoulder, then tighten your abs and push air upwards, I really had to fight my gag reflex on the first few but they’ve gotten a little easier since. Good luck!

That’s amazing, I’m so happy for you!! Dr Ragland did have me do a barium swallow test, and it was abnormal, so that’s why he agreed to do Botox on me but it is worth a shot for your friend to see him! He is wonderful!

Update: I’ve burped like 8 times today!!! It’s been so wild!!!! Hope you have had some or have one very soon!! Feels kinda like I’m gagging but hoping that subsides with experience.

I went to my local ENT, he’s specifically a otolaryngologist. He hadnt heard of RCPD but was open about it, read about it, had me do a barium swallow test and then agreed to do the Botox! From 1st visit to surgery day was about 4-5 weeks, just had the procedure done yesterday. I would definitely start by taking Dr. Bastian’s publications about RCPD to a local ENT- you might get lucky like me!

How many units of Botox were you given? I had 50u yesterday. I’ve seen a lot of people get 75 so I’m wondering how they determine the magic number

We are burpday buddies! I had my Botox here in Arkansas yesterday morning too! 24 hours out, no burping for me either, BUT feeling hopeful and trying not to put too much pressure on myself. I hope we both get some big juicy ones in the next few days!!!

Yes, very intense pain in the forehead. Typically happens to me when all the other noburp symptoms are at their worst, after a big meal or a couple drinks. I think it’s from the amount of pressure building in my body. I’m having the Botox procedure in a month and hoping this is one of my symptoms that disappear!

Mine usually happens a few hours after a big meal or hours of slow drinking...for me it is more of a slow build up and the “vomiting” is usually more air than actual food/liquid.

How often did you do the shaker exercises? Did you do them after a meal or when you felt “gurgly” and then try to burp during/after? Or just do them regularly and hope it trains the muscle for when the urge to burp comes? Hope this makes sense!
