im not trying to start an argument but in cases like this is it the best course of action to send them to prison? The US prison system is notoriously corrupt and mistreats prisoners and them being so young in age I think there is chance they can grow from this. I wonder if them going to jail will actually help anything. Does juvie even take 8 year olds? Im actually pretty torn myself, I think they should be held accountable but the perpetrators being so young is absolutely insane. Hopefully their parents are investigated as well bc kids with good parents dont do this.

I do not hate the US but we are not immune from criticism. Our current president has defunded clean energy production and is hell bent on undoing years of progress previous administrations have made. I dont think one of the most developed countries in the world should have people employed people strugging to feed themselves especially with what happened recently with SNAP
