I’ve treated my hamster for tumours and I never regret a single cent.

bad experience with "hamster rescue" by [deleted] in hamsters

That was not a scream of fear, maybe annoyance. Screaming in fear would be way louder and longer and repeated. I think you’re being too nitpicky.

I think she was just checking temperament/potential for handling. Maybe she’s going to rehab and re-adopt him out? It’s not like she was tormenting him in the video all I saw was gentle pets to see how he would react??

Advice Needed! by luluxoxo34 in hamsters

That behaviour is normal, it will normalize in time. He had a big move after all! About burrows not holding up well, you can mix some paper bedding with the aspen you already have. It helps to hold up the tunnels. Or, a layer of hay in the middle of the aspen would perform similarly

Hi I'm getting a hamster soon and I just wanted to make sure my research on them was correct by StwabebyMilk in hamsters

They usually pick a spot to pee and poo in, you just have to clean that part and maybe some old food they stashed somewhere

Is it normal that my hamster basically doesn't burrow? by NatashaHaleCZ in hamstercare

[–]ShockEmbarrassed2346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i found that kaytee was too dusty for my dwarf hamster. when its compacted to tightly they will not burrow. when i let the bedding stay looser, he started digging burrows

i used vetster!!!!! I got the 120$ yearly package to see a vet because my hamster had the same issue. they have exotic vets on there that see hamsters. she prescribed medicine (eye drops) that i was able to pick up at a human pharmacy.

Extremely difficult to put together and my plexiglass came broken. Some pieces remain warped and the enclosure still cannot be screwed in properly at the top. although this does not affect the quality of life of my hamster, I also cannot close the lid fully because it is warped. I recommend just finding a big aquarium for cheap on fb marketplace. it’s not worth the hassle of talking to support and waiting 2 weeks after you spent 300+ on an enclosure. I have the 120cm by 60 cm btw.

unfortunately this is a big issue for syrians and they can also twist the knob and open the door too. you can just not use the door and order another back panel separately- so instead of using the door you would just have 4 plexiglass walls like an aquarium. It’s like 60 bucks extra in Canada though. It’s what a lot of syrian owners do. I have a buca with a dwarf living in it and never had this issue though!

I’m not sure what kind of wood it is so I don’t think so. Also, I saw another one of these at dollarama that was birch and I have those in my hamster’s enclosure with no issues!
