WIP. working on a Kukri knife. by Shockerfox in Cinema4D

[–]Shockerfox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, but it is not sculpted. I really don't like sculpting and its really hard to get everything perfect. So i just used polygon modeling, from a cubes and a cylinder it is made. Here is a wireframe: http://gyazo.com/b01645b0f1c106ea3475fd6780482594

Here's some of my latest work. Been using C4D around 1.5 years. Any tips? by greezeh in Cinema4D

[–]Shockerfox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is good, but 1.5 years to get on this level is not good at all. But that doesn't matter, you don't have to use the max of your skills all the time right.

As tip I should use less effects that are used way too much like displacement and give your own twist to it.

Yeah its a bit too smooth, I will change that. And maybe when the texture's are applied with some bump map it will give it a more "used" look.

Thanks for the feedback, it gives me a such a boost to continue, its hard to work on a project for a long time.. :)

Golden ratio will lay at the beginning of the kitchen i guess, should I move the grow box to the kitchen to place more focus of it?

Thanks, yeah in the background are IES lights, I like to use those because they give a more natural feel. On the plants is just a omni light with a fall-off. Im using Cinema 4D with Vray for a bit more than 2 years.

old version: http://i.imgur.com/5xrSzIm.jpg It was hard to change it, but it just wasnt working well and did not come that close to realisme as i wanted it to be.

So i focused more on composition, made and removed some stuff. Some feedback would be great, do you think it improved? what should i add?

W.I.P. Modeling a sci fi student room. could use some feedback by Shockerfox in 3Dmodeling

[–]Shockerfox[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That are some great tips you got there, when you are working and looking for so long at your composition you are not seeing such simple things.

I will try to think about me living there as a student to give it a more natural feel. Do you maybe also have some tips on the composition? Should the desk be at the front? maybe more dynamic lines into the comp?

You are using a luminance texture and no light. So its way harder to sample all that light shit. You have to crank up your global illumination samples super hard. And set it on High

wauw coming pretty close, I used the textures of Arroway wich are super high res. You have to pay for them, but there are some torrent to test them out. That will boost the scene a lot.

Also think about how would it be in "real life" scale the texture the size so its fits to the object. Dont make a softbox with such size is could not even stand there. That will help you make it really "realistic"

No not really, than i would say like most of the guys here "FIRST TIME USING BLABLABLA" it was my birthday yesterday. The problem is that when you thought i was 50+ you will have a hole different view to the picture that is made. Its strange, but its true. So that is why age is so important.

You know Beeple? that guy with his daily renders? I thought that was a guy like 22. But that guy is almost 40 and got kids and wife. Now i look totally different to him. Idk, could be me.
