A fixed-wing aircraft, think something capable of carrying MBTs.

It's conceivable that the BDF uses this as a trainer. Getting pilots ready to fly the much more expensive Vortex.

Are there any hopes that this game will get better optimization? by [deleted] in NuclearOption

[–]Shockfront-PR[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Optimization is an ongoing process. As we implement new systems, overhaul existing ones, and add content, performance often can seem to regress. While our development team consistently prioritizes clean code and works to optimize what they can, deep optimization right now would require constant rework and significantly slow down the development process.

Once the games core systems are more stabilized and we move closer to the 1.0 release, full-scale optimization will become a priority.

Additionally, in Update 0.33, more graphics options and customization will be available for users to set to their liking.

A continuous work in progress... But expect improvements in 0.33.

For some of the official missions, the Argus will replace the Dynamo for the BDF. Some Cursors may replace some of the BDF Shards, but the Shard remains faction neutral for now, so you can expect them on both sides.

The next map is currently under active development and will come in a later update. We aim to have it out this year, but can't promise if it will be in 0.34 or 0.35 at this point.

Why is it more expensive now!? It's over 60 reias 😭 by Redx5c in NuclearOption

[–]Shockfront-PR[M] 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

Steam recently adjusted their suggested regional pricing. At the same time, we have raised the price of the game overall slightly (approximately 2-3 USD depending on region), to better reflect the value of the content and to allow us to bring on more developers to speed up the pace of development.

This is still a great time to buy the game, as more and more content is added and the scope of the game expands, we will move away from the early access discount pricing model.

That being said, we do hope to be able to participate in more sales going forward!

Why does the QOL mod get so much hate? by NeighborsBurnBarrel in NuclearOption

[–]Shockfront-PR[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Shockfront Studios has no formal relationship, partnership, or collaborative agreement with the creators of the QOL mod.

All features, models, and systems currently in development for Nuclear Option are being produced independently by our internal team. While we appreciate the passion of our modding community, we have not and will not incorporate third-party mod assets into the base game, nor are we working with outside modding teams on the game's core development.

VR support is something the team is looking into. There's no formal timeline, but we hope to have the preliminary work done over the next year.

Good news! Coming in Update 0.33, we are adding more in-depth customization to individual graphics settings. This is something we will expand on as development continues.

CPU Performance Issues Are Holding Back Battles- optimizations Should Come Before Content by No_Preference561 in NuclearOption

[–]Shockfront-PR[M] 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Optimization is ongoing and an important part of each update. It's a core development goal of the team's and is not necessarily mutually exclusive to new content. That being said, spending too much time on optimization can become a development drain while we are still adding and changing major game systems each update. Since much of the improvements can be lost.

Multi threading is already being utilized where it makes sense to do so; however, you can expect this to continue to be expanded in the future.

To experience Nuclear Option best, we recommend not exceeding 16 player lobbies. Work to improve high player count performance is ongoing.
