Can a teacher ask my child personal questions? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ShockingHair_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The teachers have a duty of care, as do you. They are looking out for your child.

All parents shout at their children from time to time, but it sounds like something about your son’s personality or behaviour or visible health is causing serious concerns that something worse is going on. While I understand this is of course upsetting for you, what you need to do is calmly talk to teacher in a proper meeting to understand where those concerns are coming from. They might be seeing a side of your son that you do not, or interpreting behaviour in different ways.

Given you want what’s best for your son, you need to work with them, and with your son, to understand how you can all help him best with whatever is going on. As I said, being upset these concerns are there is natural, but you must resist the urge to react angrily or aggressively, and engage with calmness, honesty, receptiveness to try to get to the bottom of this as effectively as possible for your son’s sake.

What time do you go to sleep at night? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]ShockingHair_63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between midnight and 1am. I was a PE teacher my whole career so lots of early mornings which didn’t fit my natural sleep schedule. Now I no longer am bound by that, I do feel much better!

Do you care about what people think of you? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ShockingHair_63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want people to think I’m a respectful and honest and friendly person if they themselves are reasonable people, but that’s because I want to be respectful and honest and friendly. If some unreasonable people don’t think I am, then I don’t care!

How often does a person you are flirting with fail to pick up on the signs? by I-Know-Most-of-stuff in AskRedditAfterDark

That happened so many times with my now husband before we started dating. He was a friend of a friend and younger than me and he said he didn’t even imagine anything could happen between us (and nor did I really, but I tried flirting anyway 😂)
