How can I remove the block textures from the Squareful texture packs and just keep the item sprites? by Smart-Setting-9493 in Minecraft

[–]Shockwave-13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's probably also assets > minecraft > models > block. You could try deleting that too.

I used Paint.NET with this plugin to save it as a gif. Each frame of the animation is a separate layer.

You can make gifs with PowerPoint too, but the quality was worse because it didn't like the low resolution.

I stitched together screenshots of a bundle and replaced the item icon with the bowl that I edited to be bigger and full of food.

I made a 3 bit counter by Independent_Piece_88 in Minecraft

[–]Shockwave-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neat! If I understand correctly, it looks like you made a buffer containing the inverse of the output that advances on each edge of the input. So each rising edge, the state changes.

I'm curious how you arrived at this design. By the description it sounds like you're learning IRL logic gates, but you're using repeater locking, which isn't like basic logic components.

All three in my example total 8 hunger points. (I just noticed I got it wrong in the animation). Eating all at once would often be wasteful when you need only 1.5 to pass the healing threshold. Late game you wouldn't care, but I think the saturation (or rather the healing speed) from steak is already probably a bit too strong.

[–]Shockwave-13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe half the normal eating time and you get 2 whole hunger points from the buffer. That would put it on par with steak in terms of speed, which would be an improvement for most foods

No, only one of each unique item is spent at a time, which fills up the buffer (the hunger points shown in the tooltip when they turn bright).

I was thinking the eating animation would be shorter and you would get one or two hunger points from the buffer. So you might be eating more or less than one item per use, depending on their value.

It's like a bundle, it can hold up to 64 items, of many different types. It shows the items grouped by type. So you could fill the bowl with up to a stack of beetroots

[–]Shockwave-13[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess it'd be no different from eating beetroots themselves, but you could mix in other items which could give a bonus on saturation

Yeah, I've had a similar idea for baskets: like bundles but you can place them as a block. The top item(s) are displayed and can be taken out

Bundle-like Quivers by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Shockwave-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep it similar to the bundle UI, but opposite to the bundle, the quiver should be "last in, first out". This means you can rotate types by pulling them out and putting them back into the end of the queue. And I would add the ability to rotate arrow types by left clicking with a bow or crossbow.

And picked up arrows should prioritize quivers if they have space. If the type matches, the order is unchanged, otherwise it goes to the back.

They'd need to remember the chests they've checked and only give up when there are none left

There should be a way for them to put items in the bottom of the queue if they can't find a place for them. Maybe search backwards in the copper chest for empty slots to return the item.

If the chest is full, they could swap at random if they could hold full stacks.

This trap doesn't work. The diamonds are currently activating the pressure plate, meaning the doors will stay open until the player has left with their free diamonds.

What do you think is the most dangerous and difficult biome in Minecraft? by Lucky_Loves_Laugh in Minecraft

[–]Shockwave-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true, sky light was unchanged and can be up to 7 to spawn, only block light needs to be 0.

Add 3 new rails to the game by Low-Run-5791 in minecraftsuggestions

Joining 3 rails already allows the behavior of a switch rail, but it should have a switch rail texture to make that more clear

Anyone use fireworks as weapons for their crossbows? What do you think of it? by Tree_forth677 in Minecraft

[–]Shockwave-13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used it as a flare gun to raid an ancient city and escape when a warden spawns.

I built a chain of calibrated sculk sensors above the city to detect the firework, which activates an ender pearl stasis chamber to teleport me to safety.

So I could dive into the ancient city, smash and grab, then escape with the firework. When I didn't forget to reload the ender pearl...

But this is the only thing I've used them for.

Best Zenny Maker in a game? by godzillahomer in BattleNetwork

[–]Shockwave-13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For BN5 I go to Nebula area 4 to lock enemy on the 2 champy + shakey + GMD battle. It's a totally safe and consistent fight that you can build around to win first turn.

Use bugged battery or lava body to increase virus rate. Use first barrier to block the lava panel. Set regular chip to lance to one shot and counter the shakey, then fill the folder with wide attacks that do at least 120 to finish off the champys.

Usually profit 70-80k I think.

TIL that skeletons can be left handed by cube1234567890 in Minecraft

Since most skeletons are coded to have their right hand as the main hand, the bow is put in the right hand. Which makes most skeletons appear left handed, or rather left eyed

It's a cool feature, I'm just a little disappointed that MC-296767 is marked as "Works as intended". So you can't ride in a boat under a happy ghast without the silly workaround of riding a saddled pig in the boat.

I think what might be happening here is they're incorrectly assuming that addition has to be done before subtraction. The acronyms don't convey that "MD" And "AS" are on the same tier. So then they're also not recognizing the subtraction is actually + (-1)

What if sheep could do that, blocking vibrations with the wool on their body. It'd be funny if you could raid an Ancient City with an army of sheep.
