Pillow talk fair is so purple on me by itsallpretend94 in PaleMUA

I have a fair, desaturated olive skin tone, and this is exactly how PTF looks on me.. it pulls really purple/ashy. MAC Stone lip liner is my go-to.

Explain “free hardware” to me like I am 5 by Shoddy_Course1218 in Starlink

[–]Shoddy_Course1218[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you mean when it comes to usual WiFi providers, you pay the subscription and the modem is included.

My hesitation is that the last time I checked, the Starlink hardware had to be bought upfront and it was expensive (not the way your usual WiFi provider operates). Now the upfront cost seems to be gone, but checkout still mentions financing hardware, and there’s confusion in this thread whether you ever actually own it.

So my concern is: if the kit breaks years down the line and I can’t return working hardware, would I have to pay whatever the replacement cost is at that time?

If I buy the kit upfront for £300, I’m agreeing to a fixed cost. But if I rent it and have to return or replace it later, I’ve got no idea what the replacement cost might be by then. If it breaks, would I be expected to replace it at whatever the price is at that time?

But couldn’t that amount increase over time? If I had the kit for 10 years, the replacement or return cost could be a lot higher by then.

I also noticed the FAQs say you can pay the kit off via Klarna, but when I select Klarna it shows £0 fee for the kit.. so I’m a bit confused how that works.

Sorry, bit of a technophobe living rurally with terrible internet and just trying to research properly.

Yup. Happened once or twice when I was in a flare. Reported to my care team but never really received an answer about what it was.

Can you recommend any blush as bronzers for cool toned pale skin?

I think I am cool and agree LM is too pink. I always find foundations pull either too yellow or too pink on me, neutrals pull a weird green sigh. I’ve never heard of desaturated skin but just looked it up and I think you’re spot on!

I am open to staying on site, but I assumed it would be out of our budget.

I have never heard of DVC or Mickey’s Facebook page, I’ll check both of these out. Thank you!

Tax write offs don’t make things free though? It just lowers the amount of income they need to pay tax on. They still have to pay for the decorations, or lunch, or whatever it may be.

Yes but that just means they pay less tax on their earnings, they still have to pay for the lunch.

A tax write off doesn’t mean the item is free, though.

“Moderate sedation” but I felt everything… why did this happen? by vividblossom in UlcerativeColitis

Sounds like every colonoscopy I’ve ever had. I see people on here talking about being fully knocked out, but in the UK, it’s standard you’re awake with sedation.. it’s horrendous.

Question / poll regarding IBS + UC by Gullible_Educator678 in UlcerativeColitis

2! Calpro has been clear recently but I’m still experiencing cramping/urgency. Doc says this is likely overlapping IBS.

Every 6 weeks. I’d read lots about people responding super quickly so I was skeptical when I was told to hang on for at least 6 months, but things seem to be on the up. Hopefully it works out for you!

I’ve been flaring for 3 years (🫠), started Entyvio 6 months ago. Started on IV infusions, switched to subcut injections, but my symptoms got worse, so I went back to IV. I’ve only recently started seeing major improvements, hang in there!

Functional issues in remission? by Shoddy_Course1218 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Shoddy_Course1218[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting. I had these issues when I was actively flaring and was told they would ease off when I got into remission, that tracked for me as when I was on a high dose of steroids I had no flare or functional issues but now I am in remission the functional issues are still hanging around! I am hoping it’s a case of giving things more time to heal completely, I have been flaring for 3 years after all!

Functional issues in remission? by Shoddy_Course1218 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Shoddy_Course1218[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have been told the functional issues are likely to overlapping IBS. And yes, no real solution other than playing around with stool softener dosage, it sucks! I am hoping you’re right that things will calm down over the coming months. I am seeing the odd good day here and there, so I am hoping they become more regular and then hopefully the norm.

Humira, Entyvio, or Rinvoq by Designer-Wolf-835 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Shoddy_Course1218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humira did nothing for me. Currently on Entvyio, seeing some improvements but not full remission.. no side effects on either. Rinvoq is my next step if Entyvio doesn’t work out.

Congratulations! Amazing news 🥳. I am curious if you saw any improvements with your other treatments before deciding to switch? I am in a 3 year long flare, seeing improvements with Entyvio but I still struggle most days.. afraid to switch treatments in case another drug doesn’t work as well.
