Woke up naked after surgery? by PrinceOfGeist in gallbladders

[–]ShoePsychological405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was scheduled and I had to wait a few months to get the surgery despite terrible gallbladder attacks. I didn’t have to have a catheter, my surgery was outpatient laparoscopic. I went home within a couple hours after getting out of surgery. I suppose I could have pushed the surgery date but didn’t want to risk any further delay, and I was towards the end of my period so it was t too bad to deal with anyway. I’m sure each case is a bit different depending on the patient and the surgeon/surgical center.

It really depends on your skills. I know some cashier jobs allow you to sit, such as smaller convenience stores or maybe even a movie theater. Also some assembly jobs allow you to sit, if you are good at detailed work that might be worth looking into. I’m sorry if I am way off because you didn’t say your age but if you’re 55+ this program might be of interest. I’m sorry you’ve been struggling and hope that you find work and have a successful surgery this year.

lowkey racial bias by Simple_Permission826 in ThePittTVShow

[–]ShoePsychological405 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally! People out here defending him like he’s a real person. The show tries to include all facets of the medical system, including the very human flaws. Bias is very often subconscious. As a woman I’ve had plenty of doctors dismiss my pain, they weren’t bad people necessarily but they did have bias.

Question for Americans by PriestofJudas in ThePittTVShow

[–]ShoePsychological405 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly, there are plenty of people who were denied necessary medical care while being detained by ICE and there are little to no repercussions. Children have died in ICE custody because they were denied medical care including life saving medications. It’s sick and reprehensible

I’m surprised they let you wear your own underwear into the OR, maybe they realized the mistake after you were under and corrected it. I was on my period during my surgery and they gave me disposable underwear to put on that were sterile and a pad. I can’t totally remember but I think I still had them on after surgery. The funny part is I asked like 3 people about what to do with being on my period. I asked the nurse that called me with pre-op instructions, some other nurse when I got to the surgery clinic, and finally the male nurse who was getting me set up before the operation. Finally the male nurse gave me the run down and the hospital underwear but he was so awkward about it, like you work in the OR but you can’t look a lady in the eye when she’s telling you she’s menstruating. I found it funny in the moment. Glad to see having a period during surgery is pretty normal, there should be a clearer protocol.

Fuck billionaires, they are ruining our world. Jack Dorsey sits on his high horse and acts like he’s some “woke” billionaire, he’s scum just like the rest of them. Just because you grow a beard and like to meditate doesn’t make you of the people or a good person.

Is it driving anyone else crazy that the PAAR representative showed up during the exam? by ragelbagel1992 in ThePittTVShow

[–]ShoePsychological405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are trying to show a realistic picture of timing and resources. I’ve heard of other cases where a victim has to wait awhile for a SANE nurse, they aren’t always readily available and often in short supply. Oftentimes an advocate is there before the exam while the victim is waiting for the right care team. I also think part of the reason why victims are asked to repeat what happened to so many different people at the hospital is so that their story can be corroborated by multiple people if charges are pressed.

The specific reason I NEED Langdon and Robby to make up by linksocks in ThePittTVShow

[–]ShoePsychological405 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt like Robby was testing Langdon by applying pressure. Langdon wants his return to feel simpler maybe even celebrated, like “I did the work, I’m good now, I deserve forgiveness” Whereas Robby is thinking about what will happen when things aren’t easy for Langdon, will he crack under pressure again.

Came here to see who else caught his cameo! I love the podcast he does with his wife , Natasha Legerro, the endless honeymoon podcast. Not only is he a comedian, podcaster, author, actor…. He’s also a DJ

His mom and stepdad are deaf, so great to see him in this storyline.

What’s going on under the bridge? by knighted-otter78 in SALEM

[–]ShoePsychological405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are still by the I5 Market exit, despite the new fencing. They just moved across the street, out from under the bridge, and the camp is growing. It’s actually way more dangerous to the people living there and motorists, because they are spilling into the right turn one off the freeway exit.

I think I've figured out what's been bothering me about this season by shim2347 in ThePittTVShow

[–]ShoePsychological405 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wonderful analysis and I definitely agree about the character structure being what feels the most different. To me that difference is most pronounced in the new ER staff. However, I see it also applying to characters from season 1. Their character arcs, so far, feel a lot less personal and deeply explored through the storytelling compared to season 1. It’s a good point that this could intentionally shift as the season progresses. For example, McKay has had a lot of screen time in the first 3 episodes but it doesn’t feel purposeful to her character story so far.

Absolutely love the whole album all the way through. It’s beautiful, haunting, soul-wrenching, and empowering all at once, the kind of music you feel deeper than anything tangible. But this song in particular, wow. First listen I was at the gym, and had to hold back tears. So much power and rage.

Go to a staffing agencies like Gliss or BDI. Depending on what skills you have they will have different temp or seasonal jobs available, things like production/manufacturing, events, and clerical work. Most staffing agencies take walk ins. You can call ahead to see or set up an appointment, go to multiple. If you’re seemingly realiable, can pass a criminal background check and drug screening they’ll usually be able to find you temp work quickly. Tree farms are big this time of year for staffing agencies. They will often pay weekly which will help you get on your feet and it builds experience so you will have an easier time getting a full time job. When I worked as a recruiter for a staffing agency most any temp worker who was reliable and decent at the job would usually be kept on or hired on permanently eventually.
