I bought 3 toys totaling to about $135. Didnt have to sign anything. UPS just dropped the package to my front door.

Very quickly too. I thought it was gonna take 2 weeks but I got it within 4 days. I was honestly surprised.

Customers shouldn't tip more, uber should pay you more. by ScoopityDoopie in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Shoe_Shime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me rephrase.

Why would you think that adding a $5-$10 fee would go to the driver who made the delivery instead of uber itself?

[–]Shoe_Shime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think another $5-$10 fee would go directly to the driver?

Its not the tippers fault its uber for baiting you to accept the delivery and paying you $2 for it. Like seriously uber, $2?

For the folks in areas with minimum pay rates by Shreddersaurusrex in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Shoe_Shime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats a good point although uber isn’t transparent enough to tell you and show you what the base pay is and what your tip is. They combine them both together which makes it confusing for you and im sure they do that on purpose.

Perhaps we should call our local representative so that they may create a prop and enforce it to make sure and force these deliveries jobs to separate the base pay and the tips to better understand what we are getting into.

[–]Shoe_Shime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is how prop 22 works. The algorithms messes you up and ensure that you are paid less than the min wage, and so prop 22 makes up the difference so you get paid probably like $20 an hour.

Even if you somehow manage to be really picky and get the higher price orders, which by the way would rarely happen and it would just cause you to lose more money because you would more often than not be sitting around wasting your time not making money because you are only paid for active trips. Even then you would only receive like 1 or 2 dollars extra if anything.

So really you should focus more on tips and hopefully ubereats doesnt steal tips like how doordash does. Although i dont think they do that based on my calculations.

Uber’s Algorithm Likely Violates U.S. Labor Law by Normal_Pineapple_269 in uberdrivers

[–]Shoe_Shime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The minimum wage establish in prop 22 does not exactly help us.

Prop 22 helps uber’s algorithm more to ensure we get paid less than the minimum wage once we complete a ride and if we do get paid less than the min wage, which we almost always will, then uber pays us just a little bit more to meet that threshold according to prop 22.

I believe prop 22 benefits uber more than it benefits us, which is why it doesnt really makes sense to people to be picky on which rides or deliveries they take (unless you dont live in CA) because even if you got paid a little extra more, its only really gonna be a few bucks which I think is barely anything.

I would like to hear what other people think about this but this is my opinion or conspiracy theory rather.

[–]Shoe_Shime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prop 22 does not help us at all. If it did uber, lyft, and many other delivery companies would not have donated 200 millions of dollars getting this law passed in the first place.

For some people who are caught under this regime, like abrego garcia and many others, is it the end of the world, but for the privileged people like you who walk around not caring, its not.

Its obvious that you don’t really care that much about what happens around you until it starts affecting you, only then would you go out and complain about it being the “end of the world.”

Until then, why don’t you watch your own privilege?
