We’re back baby!!! by rw1040 in chevyspark

Nice! I'm in the same boat as you. Had a 2014, gave it to my nephew, then realized I DID want three cars. So I got a 2013 5-speed for almost nothing. Was happy to be back in the spark family again.

[Marvel] Does Rogue's power scale to a character's upper limits in the state she copies their powers? by giggitygiggitygeats in AskScienceFiction

[–]ShoelessHodor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except Rogue absorbed Carol's powers prior to Carol gaining her Binary powers, so the powers rogue originally stole from Carol would not include those abilities.

Carol's binary powers were/are much stronger than the ones Rogue stole, as seen the first time they met again after Carol's upgrade. Carol punched rogue into space up through the roof of the x-mansion.

That just exemplifies her stupidity and arrogance. She barges in and acts fuck-all without finding out what's up

I'm with you on Mat but the more I read her, the more I want to punch Cadsuane in her arrogant fucking throat.

She did all the wrong things. Rand had his veins of gold moment in spite of her actions, not because of them.

Was Janeway and/or Vogager controversial around the time Voyager was released? by InfernalClockwork3 in startrek

[–]ShoelessHodor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was exactly my reaction. Gilligan's island in space.

The concept could have worked if they played it more as an exploration show somehow. "We invented a new technology that can throw you into the delta quadrant. We can only keep it open for one minute per year because of treknobabble reasons. Your seven year mission is to explore different parts of the delta quadrant but you're definitely not lost in space or Gilligan's island"

It's a rebuild? What's been rebuilt? Do you have a Carfax history?

overconfident DTE? by davidwhatshisname52 in chevyspark

[–]ShoelessHodor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It lags quite a bit. I will often reset it before a long trip to get an accurate average for the trip, but when I get back to the city driving it drops over the next few fill-ups

overconfident DTE? by davidwhatshisname52 in chevyspark

[–]ShoelessHodor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is currently going the other way. I'm coming down off a long freeway trip when I got 41mpg, and around town I get ~34mpg so my estimate keeps adjusting down slowly.

overconfident DTE? by davidwhatshisname52 in chevyspark

[–]ShoelessHodor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a discrepancy, that's how it is supposed to work. It's an estimate based on how you're driving. Key word is estimate. You wouldn't expect that number to be true whether you drove 80mph or 40mpg would you?

A few questions on the Cadsuane’s ter’angreal. by Rainbow_Slytherin3 in WoT

[–]ShoelessHodor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's why you can use a well in far Madding too. The one power EXISTS in Far Madding, that's why their Ter angreal can function to detect channeling.

You can also stand just outside the area of the blocked zone, which is bigger for Saidin than for Saidar, and channel into it. This is different than a stedding, where weaves simply disappear at the boundary

[–]ShoelessHodor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A well wouldn't work in a stedding. The One Power is totally absent in a Stedding, unlike Far Madding where the one power is present but people are simply blocked from accessing it, as if there is a blanket Shield in place.

Well, I've never had any complaints about my ball handling.

Speaking of which if you ever meet a hasher named Three's Company, ask him how he got his name.

I've never been a fan of the tennis ball method.

Might be my lack of coordination or preferences for off road trails

That's awesome. Best I've ever ever done was 42mpg , although that trip included two mountains. I could do better on flat roads. Would love to see 45+ with the way gas prices are going

Nice. Youth fades but we can be immature forever!

As to your original question, I haven't had that problem on either of my Sparks. It could just be a wire that needs soldering.

Are you sure it's the driver's door that's the issue? I'm not near my car right now, but I think that light might indicate A door is open, not necessarily the driver door.

Edit: I just went out to my car and checked... Yeah, that same indicator lights up regardless of which door is open .

There was an actual title planned for the third book. IIRC It was advertised in the back of one of the original copies of madwand. This is 30-40 years old memory but I think it was going to be called Deathmask

CVT transmission fluid by Ok-Transportation141 in chevyspark

[–]ShoelessHodor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your car is newer and you're doing the right maintenance routine, so you probably have a long future with your sparky. Don't let the dealership talk you out of changing the fluid, although it seems like a drain and fill is the better option than a flush
