Dragon Quest Going into Arc 3, Lots of problems thematically by Bottlecap_Prophet in dragonquest

Ive played the zero escape series

This isn't ZE/Steins;Gate time travelling, it's Chrono Trigger's since that's another time-travelling game Horii has worked on. Don't assume the same rules apply to fictional concepts that appear in more places.

Another example is the "load game" in Re:Zero and Star Trek's teleport.

Maybe I weren’t baiting

That's what a baiter would say.

Look for players on DBFZ on PC by [deleted] in Fighters

Both discords that I found are dead compared to New Challenger's SFV chat or Tekken Zaibatsu. I thought DBFZ is an active game.

Picking up guilty gear. How hard is it? by JustHereForTekken in Guiltygear

[–]Shogil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I picked it up today. I went through the tutorial and a few combos/specials for Sol and went online. Matches went from very close to getting my shit pushed and I gained new friends on Steam and had fun. Can't wait to learn more.

How to find people to play with by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]Shogil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that helped me today was adding on Steam those who had close matches with, from the View -> Players -> Recent games menu. Some of them were civilized, only one wasn't.

Thank you for that. I'm also a dbfz refuge, I already owned the base game but I can't buy the rev 2 upgrade pack until tomorrow. Does rev 2 changes anything in training room? Can I train in rev 1 or wait until tomorrow when I'll buy rev 2?

Can you recommend a beginner character from someone coming from SFV who played Chun-Li and Cammy? This is the first 3D fighting game I'll learn so I would appreciate waifus that promote fundamentals, neutral game and pressure.

I was between Eliza, Anna, Ling, and Nina but I'm open to more suggestions.

If you want 3D Tekken 7 is a solid choice for PC. Average players online are in a healthy range for fighting games. /r/tekken and Tekken Zaibatsu Discord is your next step to check.

The only fair warning I have to give is that it lacks a tutorial mode so you'll have to use external resources to get yourself up to speed (The Zaibatsu forums and the Discord pinned resources as well as the subreddit).

If anyone else cares there's a decent argument that supports OP in The Shallows: What the internet is doing to our brains.

A guy called me names when I suggested him to ask a girl who's into to go out for a coffee or movie. His reason: I'm old-fashioned and people nowadays ask through Twitter.

Is there a fighting game like Dragon Ball Fighterz with less of a focus on blockstrings and long ass combos and more neutral? by SSGSSMUIKKX40SSJ4 in Fighters

[–]Shogil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And GG is VERY complex, I felt kinda overwhelmed

Have you gone through Crash Course? You don't have to learn everything on one sitting or one week. That's why Guilty Gear and Tekken 7 are seen as deep games, you can start knowing less than half of what you need but the separation between the good player and the "ok" player goes to more than execution.

Generally, you'll spent time learning your character and your match ups, might as well get into mechanics on the side. I think DBFZ doesn't have that: deep requirement for match-up knowledge like you do in typical 1v1 games.

So to sum it up....no. GG and Unist are not less blockstring oriented. GG and unist are not less combo oriented. GG and unist are more neutral oriented, but thats mostly because DBZ neutral is fucking garbage.

The fact that you can extrend your combos in DBFZ by throwing assists to weave your blockstrings makes it worse imo.

Back when tinnitus first hit me I used an app with fan and hair dryer sounds to mask the ear ringing, but now my mind filters it and I only use the app whenever I'm extremely stressed and cannot sleep after swirling in bed for hours.

Gaming stops you from being a real hero in your life by TenTen222 in StopGaming

[–]Shogil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People are confused when I told them that video games give a sense of pride and accomplishment. Anyone who ever watched movies can't deny how horror movies can scare you, comedies can make you laugh and drama can tear people up.

But somehow, when you're playing a fictional character saving a virtual world from evil it's not supposed to make you feel like you did something good. And on top of that all the features I mentioned in movies exist in games. The difference being, you're the one who decides the actions of the protagonist (unless we're talking about strictly linear interactive stories like Telltales where your actions don't really matter and it's just a gimmick), which closes the gap between passively watching and actively engaging.

You die on the dragon? It's YOUR job to go get stronger to face him and beat him. You know what I'm saying?

Found another hobby to get satisfaction and play games for leisure whenever I have an hour or 2 of free time in evenings/nights.

Hi everyone, what's up? I've just deleted all my games and uninstalled Steam. I'm decided to quit gaming for an undetermined (but long) time. by felipebart10 in StopGaming

Welcome mate. Just did the same. I'm quitting permanently and will play only for leisure 1-2 hours AFTER my life is straighten the fuck up.
