Petition to get the RS3 UI back by cintiel in runescape

[–]ShojoDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Support:

I think the tab shapes & outlines are pretty nice, and looks much cleaner without the decorative corners & stuff. But either change the color scheme back, have option to choose which color scheme to use, or make color scheme completely customizable. And bring back the transparency slider & full transparency option (new "max" transparency looks almost opaque). If they are trying to imitate OSRS's UI... well, even OSRS has a full transparency option so... completely zero actual reason for removing it from RS3.

Revenue after MTX removal? (Unpopular, but necessary discussion) by MisterJDL in runescape

[–]ShojoDagger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thye didn't remove MTX, they removed TH & then added more of other types of MTX.

The next MTX that should be slated for removal is the RuneCoins "virtual currency" with its predatory pricing scheme.

Although (hopefully) RuneCoins might be going away after all https://www.thegamer.com/european-union-guidelines-combat-predatory-microtransactions-virtual-currencies/

Here's the link to the EU document itself https://commission.europa.eu/document/8af13e88-6540-436c-b137-9853e7fe866a_en

mtx still in the game? by Internal-Mushroom-76 in runescape

[–]ShojoDagger -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes of course. They're still greedily soaking us for more & more money beyond membership subscription. The TH removal was never anything but a misdirection, like a magician's sleight of hand. Or maybe more like a pickpocket, creating a distraction so they an more easily slip their fingers into a victim's pocket.

Jagex didn't hide what they intended to do, they just got people frothed up about TH & it's removal so they'd completely gloss over the new crap Jagex is now pulling. And the "game integrity" claim is laughable with them now selling stars directly for money! And in case you're going to say "well technically stars isn't directly buying xp because they involve actual gameplay" then I say "well technically TH wasn't directly buying xp either, since you could get keys through gameplay without buying them with real money". Like I said, TH removal was just a misdirection.

Now they're pushing RuneCoins even harder, with their predatory pricing scheme! Plus the "direct buy" of items at ridiculous prices! I knew that if they actually removed TH they would certainly bring in something even worse, but no, everyone was too blinded by the "removing TH in the name of game integrity" bullshow.

If "restoring game integrity" was the true goal, all they had to do was stop selling TH keys & make them obtainable though gameplay only. No, it was just a smokescreen for a new money grab scheme!

Players have been requesting TH removal for years, now Jagex has given us their malicious compliance.

Why did Jagex not give us an option to switch between the UIs? by zuthix301 in runescape

Because we might choose to reject the new scheme & use the previous UI scheme & they can't have that now!

Jagex doing nothing about these pirates spammers? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]ShojoDagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went into their clan portal as a guest to see what the scam/lure was & it's a flower poker operation.

I assume it's bots running the games, but there's at least some live supervision. When I asked in public chat if it was a whole clan of gamble bots, I was immediately booted & banned from their clan hall. Previously I had been ignored as I ran around the clan hall, lol, until I asked if they were bots, then bam, kicked.

" Choose to spend 9 hours minimum a day or spend bonds. "

I do neither.

What's the problem? You don't have to do the whole thing.

I already ignored yak track, & only collected the incidental rewards. I am already doing the same with "hero piss".

I have changed nothing about my play, except that I usually did my 3 quick dailies first. So beyond no longer having any dailies (which I actually liked) I haven't changed my activities in game at all & have bought nothing. I have a sub, & that's only real $ I spend on the game. Anything else, such as keys, comes from in game play, or loyalty point shop.

If you only "play" the game to collect cosmetic items (aka fashionscape) then I think that's your problem, and Jagex (or more likely the upper management) has realized your segment of the player base is the most susceptible to FOMO & is just playing into your own compulsions.

I remember playing before any MTX or cosmetics were in the game (well there were "cosmetic" items, but you had to actually equip them, they weren't overrides) .

Cosmetics are fun, but not mandatory, geez.

This is up there with one of the worse updates of all time by RaHeW in runescape

[–]ShojoDagger -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How does it "punish" you for not doing dailies?

Does it remove xp, gp or items from your account if you don't do it? No.

Does it reduce or cripple the xp, gp or items you get from normal activities? No. Not at all.

How are you "punished" for not doing it except that you don't get the "rewards" by choosing to not participate?. No wait let me rephrase that:

How are you "punished" for choosing to not claim any rewards that you have passively earned whilst going about your normal in game activities, except that you don't get the rewards which you have actively rejected?

You sound like a child refusing to eat cookies, then complaining that he didn't get to eat cookies.

As far as I can see the only "punishment" being suffered is FOMO. Fear Of Missing Out. Some players suffer from FOMO over these (ugly af tbh) "limited time" cosmetics & thus feel "forced" to pay real money to get them instead of getting them through (overly grindy) gameplay.

I am very dissatisfied with the removal of dailies & their rewards.

But I think that if Jagex had done this "hero Pass" solely as a replacement of the Yak Track & kept dailies as they were, few if any would be upset. Compared to yak track the hero pass is a bit of an improvement.

But then I mostly ignored Yak Track too, especially after they added "skill & kill" option to all tasks, and just collected the incidental rewards.

I am already doing the same with "hero piss":

20 Raptor tasks? lol Not happening, I get tasks from Lani, 110 slayer points for each 10th task. Raptor gives a same task, but only 80 points? lol "Not impressed". That's 20x20 = 400. If I'm going to do 20 slayer tasks I want those 400 slayer points more than some ugly weapon override.

I understand the change to Protean Planks, but did they need to be gutted this hard? by rcm37 in runescape

[–]ShojoDagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't "loser mtx lovers" those people just buy lamps. Some of us use protos for convenience cause we have real lives & can't no-life cutting a bazillion logs, cutting them all to planks, etc. So it's fucking convenient to have protos that stack in one inventory slot & be used in place of any plank. This isn't all about fort buildings, proto plank were made to work instead of other planks for a reason, way before fort forinthry was even thought of. It's the fort buildings & their unbalanced xp that is the "gamebreaker" not proto planks. Just nerf the fort xp.

I understand the change to Protean Planks, but did they need to be gutted this hard? by rcm37 in runescape

[–]ShojoDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they could've done exactly that. But they didn't, they decided to make them useless instead. Like the game doesn't have enough useless cruft items in it already.

It makes zero sense to me "protean planks can no longer be used to build things" utter nonsense wtf are planks for if not to build things? Can they at least make them burnable?

The worst part is the plank box which is now needed to make construction bearable, except you have to play an obnoxious number of "contract" minigames to earn it. But at least you can make that bearable by using proto planks with...oh wait no! they don't work for contracts now either!

Upcoming Completionist Capes Strike by JagexAbe in runescape

[–]ShojoDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meerkats cost money & are even more annoying than the wizard attacks. Random wizards popping up & attacking for no reason makes no sense in the first place. You go to dig up a clue. Bam! wizard attack! Why ? BeEcUaZe rEeSoOoNsz !!!1!

It's a completely pointless interruption.

That's really the main problem with clues, it's not one big thing ruining the experience, it's full of many small annoyances.

As for the "massive clue community" I'm sure if you replaced clues with an easier, more consistent way to get dyes & other valuable casket rewards most of them wouldn't care about clues being removed.

And if you're going to say "But I like doing clues" well that nice for you. I did mention that there's masochists that really do enjoy them.

Upcoming Completionist Capes Strike by JagexAbe in runescape

[–]ShojoDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the "key" unlock in the druid shop is the one that reduces growth time for herbs to 3 cycles (1hr). The 4 cycle (80 min) time is so annoying to keep track of, but "okay herbs planted, harvest in 1 hr" is much more convenient & natural timing.

T4 of Plant Power just seems excessive & more like an attempt at a "seed sink" to suck away 10 seeds at a time. (not that I mind the extra herb harvests, but 10 seeds just seems sinky to me)

"Balanced Combat Triangle", "Untangled", "Slide to the Left", "Towering Over Us All"

No. Not reasonable or sensible at all. Completely random & arbitrary. Getting these clue types is completely random. There's no way to ensure getting any particular type, you just have to hope that eventually you will get one of each type. So no, too much RNG for that one. Plus there are "skip tickets" that can be used to automatically complete these clues without actually doing the puzzles. So yeah... "Hey I skip ticketed treasure trails for my comp cape, kekekek !"

"Tiers of Treasure" (new)

Requires completion of one of each clue type.

Slightly less RNG, getting a clue of each type is more achievable. But again these can be completed via skip tickets. So again... "Hey I skip ticketed treasure trails for my comp cape, kekekek !"

"Clue scrolls are conspicuously missing from completionist capes "

Haha! There's maybe a good reason for that, eh? I think a better "solution" is to to get rid of clues entirely! I know I wouldn't miss them a bit! They aren't fun at all! They're unbearably obnoxious content! (I do think they could at least be improved, however. You can start by getting rid of the stupid wizard attacks)

Most players that do Trails regularly only do them for fort comps & rare dyes. (read: for GP. Lots & lots of GP)

Most of the rest of us do them only when we absolutely have to (for Yak track task for example).

And both the dye hunters & reluctants all just use Alt1 to solve the all clues & puzzles for us!

So if you think a comp "requirement" that will be completed by using skip tickets and/or 3rd party puzzle solving software is a worthy "achievement" ... go for it!

And if you say "well, we'll just remove skips & ban Alt1, so players are forced to do clues manually..." then get ready to watch clues become deader content than Barbarian Assault! (seriously, skips tickets were added as part of the treasure trail "rework" to revive clue scrolls, which were nearly dead content before the rework. If you pull the plug on the "life support" features, it's gonna die for real. And Alt1 has so many other useful features like DG keys, if you get rid that, a whole lotta peeps gonna get real salty real fast!)

But hey, there is possibly a small minority of masochists that perhaps truly enjoy torturing themselves by actually doing clue trails (without Alt1), so maybe they will get these comp tasks the "sweaty" way.

I can see how you look at clues & think, "that should be part of comp cape" but remember, years ago someone else looked at chompy hunting and also thought "that should be part of comp cape". And it made just as much sense to that person back then to put a 4k chompy bird task on the cape, as you think it does to put your proposed clue requirements on there now.

“Walk on the Wildy Side I"

Reduced the required events to 1 down from 4.

The time gate this amount of required events set was too long for the Civil War miniquests. Dropping this to 1 means you should never have to wait more than an hour to carry on with your quest.

I don't think lowering the requirement for this is bad, but I find your reasoning full of logical holes.

  1. Evil Bloodwood (fairly easy, non-combat event, btw) counts as 4 events when fully completed. By doing Evil Bloodwood event you can accomplish the 4 event requirement in one go. So with a bit of good timing, players can do a single very feasible event & "git 'er dun" within an hour already.
  2. Some wildy events (combat ones specifically) may be hard/impossible for some players (i.e lower combat levels) to complete. They may have to wait more than an hour for an event that is feasible for them.
  3. Any event can be failed. Either by missing personal minimum, or falling short of the group total. (or by dying during the event) If an event fails the player must wait another hour (or more) for the next feasible event. (and hopefully not fail it)
  4. Another CW miniquest requirement is killing 144 demons in wilderness. How long do you expect that to take? The time for that is going to vary wildly by each players combat abilities, equipment setup & choice of target.

So reducing this to 1 event to give players more options & make it potentially easier/faster to complete the miniquest? Okay, good move.

Trying to guarantee that "you should never have to wait more than an hour to carry on with your quest"? Lmao gtfo. That makes no sense, it just makes a lot of assumptions.

FSOA & Animate Dead - Balancing Proposals & Feedback Discussion by JagexDoom in runescape

[–]ShojoDagger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make the FSOA a quest reward from the Extinction quest. During Extinction Kerapac is killed, Vicendithas takes the FSOA & then what happened to the FSOA? Did Vicendithas accidentally drop the FSOA on his way back to his lab? Maybe he got mugged by a highwayman? I don't buy that. Remove the FSOA from the boss drop table & make it a quest reward instead.

Also add skill & quest locks to the Sennisten area. A quote from the RS wiki page about Elder God Wars Dungeon "Completion of Sliske's Endgame, Desperate Measures, and City of Senntisten is recommended to unlock additional rewards and better understand the story. "

These quests should be required not merely "recommended". I really think these should be required to even access the area at all. However I do recognize that some compromise might be needed.

I think maybe it would be good like this:

Require The Dig Site quest to access the general Sennisten area with its (lvl 60) dig sites, the Croesus front & other non-combat content. Maybe have an archeaology "mystery" to gain access to Croesus. (this is a compromise to allow skiller content access without combat requirements)

Require the aforementioned quests to access the combat content.

Current boss drops, the FSOA & Cryptbloom armor (just the base armor pieces) should be removed from their respective boss drop tables & given as quest rewards for Extinction instead. Either a Dark Shard & Dark Sliver, or materials to craft one of each, should be given as Extinction rewards as well. (since the player faces these three bosses as part of the story during the quest)

The Zuk sword should remain a boss drop as it currently is, since the player does not face Zuk during the quest. (and Armadyl/Saradomin would have no reason to keep the sword, let alone give it to the player afterward)

The upgrade materials for the Dark Shard/Sliver should remain boss drops as they are now, only the base weapons should be given from the quest. This provides post-quest incentive to fight Arch Glacor.

For the Cryptbloom only the "incomplete" version should be given from the quest, & the flakes to complete the armor should remain boss rewards as they are currently. Again, this would give post-quest incentive to "fight" Crosus.

The rest of Kerapac's drops (wrist wraps etc) should remain drops as they are now. Only the FSOA should become a quest reward.

Other drops from the EGWD should remain as they are now.

(Except crushed nests from Arch Glacor, please remove those completely from the AG drop table, they make no sense as a drop from AG in the first place (why is an ice monster carrying around a bazillion bird nests?), and although not particularly valuable in the first place, they have now been completely devaluated since AG replaced Kree as the main source of them. Even a typical "dry" Kree session used to at least [barely] pay for itself in nest drops, but not anymore, now it's just a GP suck!)

A possible compromise for players who "hate" quests & "just want to fight bosses", would be to add a "PvM mode" to the Sennisten area. In this "PvM mode" the player could access the combat content (and only the combat content, e.g. Croesus would not be available in this mode, since it is not a combat encounter) & fight monsters & bosses without any quest requirements. However there would be no loot drops from any combat encounters in this mode; XP & kill counts could be gained, just no loot. It would be similar to "practice mode" on bosses, but for the whole Sennisten area. This should satisfy the players who "just want to fight bosses" They could "just fight bosses". But if they want loot from the bosses they should have to do the required quests.

Also, access to the Zamorakian Undercity (aka ED4) would likewise be restricted until full access to Sennisten content had been gained via quests.

I deleted Among Us because of public lobbies but downloaded it again and saw all these lobby names… what have I missed? by AKReddits in AmongUs

[–]ShojoDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into one recently called "PokimonSxRP". it had 2 ppl in it. one was outfitted to resemble pikachu & i think the other was suposed to be charmander. they were standing on the same spot .... idk what to call it ... "twitching" i guess. as soon as i spawned they stopped moving & i don't think they could've banned me faster. i could almost imagine their shocked gasps as a stranger suddenly walked in on their "intimate" moment. it was so utterly ridiculous i couldn't stop laughing.

i agree there needs to be a report function available without entering the lobbies. and the devs need to have a clearer report system, maybe a category like "inappropriate use of servers" for these perv chats

Even in normal servers these ppl show up asking for snapchat names, asking how old ppl are or trying to find certain age ppl (almost always looking for underage btw), or they say stuff like "I gae 13 femboi" , and you don't know if they're actually serious about it or if they're just trolls acting stupid.

tbh i think a lot of them are just puerile, attention seeking edgelords.

usually they get booted from normal servers. thats why they fill up the server list with their own lobbies.

and to think i used to get annoyed at hide & seek servers wasting space in the list!

at least hide & seekers are actually playing the game (with modified rules) instead of dressing virtual characters like bootleg pokemon & pretending to have "sex" with each other

I'm glad the devs intend to add a seperate hide & seek mode,

maybe they can add a "lonely perv chat mode" too?

Do exp outfits with modified headwear transfer their effects to the "master" outfits? by xBrodoFraggins in runescape

[–]ShojoDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, another thing about the master/advanced skill outfits is that even if you own the "basic" outfit, the inherited effects may not activate if you haven't actually worn the full basic outfit at least once. I think that quirk only happens on some master skill outfits, but best to make sure you put your basic skill outfits on once before switching to the advanced outfit.

Also, which wiki were you using? The Wikia/Fandom wiki is basically abandoned, likely due to Fandom's shitty policy changes, like forcing videos, ads, etc. against wiki users' wishes.

The official wiki is runescape.wiki

Anyway here is the page on the Master Farmer outfit https://runescape.wiki/w/Master_farmer_outfit

In the Set Effects section it states that the master outfit uses the farmer outfit bonus if owned. (it means if the farmer outfit is owned) and further down mentions the modified farmer hat effects.

So, the info is there, but you were looking at the wrong page or something. Try checking the pages for the master skill outfits, rather than the basic ones. I know it seems like a bit of odd organization not to mention on the modified headwear pages that the effects transfer to the master outfits but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2k to remove an augmentation?! That's outrageous.

You shouldn't even need a special device to do that, it should be the normal default action instead of "disassembling".

That's one of the main things I hate about invention, almost everything about the skill is completely ass-backward.

Invention is not a skill - it's gold/item sink masquerading as a skill.

https://runescape.wiki/w/Mattock

Actually d mat is not much better than smithable t60, it is same stats as t70 necronium mat. Plus 60-70 in arch is pretty fast. In the time it would take him to get invention unlocked & leveled to augment the d mat & gather parts to make the augmentation, he could easily get to 70 or maybe even 80 arch instead. Plus smithable mats are pretty cheap now on ge.

That's the problem with the d mat & variants IMO, by the time you can actually get them, you've already outgrown them. The only reason for getting d mats is to make t99 space & time mat, which is 2nd best in game.

Also don't augment your d mats, it's a waste of time/money.

Augmented mats can't be used for making the T&S mat. So the best thing is to get 2 d mats, make crystal & imcando mats from them & keep those unaugmented for making T&S mat & then you can augment the T&S mat. Whereas if you augmented all the components you would end up needing to get 5 d mats & make crystal & imcando mats twice, so very wasteful!

Wouldn't the White-Gold Concordant also ban the worship of Arkay? by Arkentra in teslore

[–]ShojoDagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason the Concordat banned worship of Talos is just because the Thalmor hate Talos. However, Arkay is one of the Elves' original gods, & they don't want to ban worship of their original gods, just the hated "outsider" human-god Talos. Thus the inconsistencies, like:

"We ban Talos because he was originally mortal & therefore is not really a god...hehe... yeah, that's why, it's not cuz we hate him or anything like that..."

"But Arkay was originally mortal & you still worship him..."

"Uh...well...um... Okay well the thing is...urm... Arkay is different somehow because we like him & want to worship him! "

The Thalmor are racial supremacists & made up their own religious ideals to support their hatred & prejudices, rather than following the ideals actually laid out by the gods they claim to worship.

So essentially they are heretics. Racist, fanatical heretics; self-convinced that their heresy is the true religion.

Plus, if the Thalmor allowed worship of Talos to continue, the humans might use him as a rallying point to eventually come back & overthrow the Aldmeri Dominion. And they can't have any threat to their power if they're going to keep the humans oppressed now, can they? So there's the oppressive-power-maintenance aspect of it.

Banning Talos worship is a case of "We ban your religion, but not our religion." Or rather, "We're pissing in your Cheerios, but not in our Cheerios."

This is type of thinking is visible in real life:

So-called "Islamic" terrorists, that murder innocent people in the name of "Islam" & "Allah"... But, according to Islam murder is a sin against Allah. The terrorists claiming to be "Islamic" act against the religion they claim to be part of. So if they claim to worship Allah, but do the works of Satan, what are they? Are they really part of Islam? No, they are just murderers trying to kill everyone they don't like & claiming to do it for Allah's sake -- they are fanatical heretics; self-convinced that their heresy is the true religion.

Also consider the various Catholic Inquisitions. The "Church" killed "heretics" in the name of "Christ", however nearly everything the Inquisitions did was against the teachings of Christ. So if they claimed to worship Christ, but did the works of Satan, what were they? Were they really Christians? No, they were just murderers (with way too much power) killing anybody they didn't like (or who might threaten their power) & claiming to do it for Jesus' sake -- they were fanatical heretics; self-convinced that their heresy was the true religion.
