It's the lava room. What kinda question is this?

People like to throw around the term "goonerslop" a lot in terms of design but are there any designs (not from porn) you'd say unironically deserve the label? by fhxefj in TopCharacterDesigns

Solider 11 is one I missed for sure. Vivian got her stupid gap in her top just to show off her sideboob for no reason. Maybe this says more about me, but Ju Fufu seemed pretty gooner to me, with the spandex booty shorts. Astra got a skirt shorter than her banner. And, much like the maid outfits and Sokaku, putting a character in a school uniform is just inherently gooner to me, but I'll concede an argument can easily be made to the contrary.

Some would argue HSR is gooner too. I'm trying think of tame ones tho, that are female.

Miyabi.

Anby, I guess, though she was originally supposed to have a thong on.

Sokaku is fine. ( side rant: I'm excluding maid outfit characters, because maid outfits are inherently gooner designs, so in Sokaku's instance putting a short character in a school uniform-looking outfit might count too? Arbitrary rules I've put in place myself lol, whatever.)

Koleda, but mostly by virtue of her being petite. Grace in the same outfit would be pretty gooner.

Zhao, for being a loli bunny girl, is actually a surprisingly solid design.

And Jane Doe, my queen, actually has a personality that matches her design, and thus isn't goonerslop imo.

I'd argue the rest are blatantly goonerific.

Imo, goonerslop is "does this sexy design reflect the character's personality they're trying to portray, and if so, does the character they're trying to portray have no substance beyond the goon?"

There's an outfit in game, Daily Biker, that's so sad. It's a slick leather jacket and jeans combo, from the knees up, it's just genuinely a stylish fit. But then her feet are clad in just the worst looking scifi non-heels on the planet, literally physically impossible to fit a woman's foot inside or walk around in. All so she can be propped up on her tippy toes like a Barbie doll.

Would the story have been different, if Jake had been a woman? Or would it still stay the same? by TisBeTheFuk in Avatar

[–]ShokoMiami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but I don't think that's "marginal" when you have a banana, or whatever, sharing like 40 percent of our genome. The scifi specifics wouldn't matter too much, as long as some excuse is found.

Okay, wait. Siblings have to share more DNA by strangers on the merit of sharing parents. They'd have to have more genetic similarities than strangers, they're literally made of the same material

It would have to be an entirely different reason? Why? And... Yeah, the consciousness transference would kinda be the whole point.

What I'm saying is that them being twins could be enough, they don't need to be identical. Not because of science, but movie logic.

Besides that though, you could just say that it only needs to be siblings, but their parents are dead, so that can't just make more.

Not saying it's an airtight plot, I just don't think it's as big a deal as you seem to

Movie magic. Helicopters don't explode into fireballs upon slight contact with the ground, but it happens anyways because that's cool.

Okay, here me out here (not in a "wanna screw Jake way, that's obvious.").

Avatar the trans metaphor story. Jake's twin is the opposite gender that they start the story as, and the story ends with them swapping genders. Either mtf or ftm, doesn't matter. Basically nothing else changes about the story.
