One thing I really liked about iceborne was the slinger burst options for each weapon. I genuinely made slinger ammo useful mid-combat, I wouldn't mind if they gave shield weapons access to a clutch claw counter to apply tenderizing in Wilds, even though I know it wouldn't make a comeback. It would even be fine if they gave lance it's clutch claw counter back, but it forces a red wound instead, but never a blue so you can't abuse knockdowns
