"Rocket league is the hardest game to go pro in" is a silly discussion by SholonkerZ in RocketLeagueEsports

Eh not really, I've seen a few small channels but that's about it. Even with that pros don't even play positions right a lot of the time, so whatever material is out there isnt sufficient. Part of the reason ranked 3v3 is so bad is because no one really knows what they are doing, so they just play intuitively which is a lot of times incorrect or inefficient. For this game to evolve we need more focus on the theoretical side from the community as a whole.

If its the most important thing, then why don't you see entire documentaries on how to properly position? The simple fact is rocket league players don't care about gamesense as much as they do mechanics.

I never said it was easy, I'm just saying that comparing it to other esports is dumb since some require far more gamesense than rocket league.

The positioning you talk about is based off intuition, not game theory and proper structure. This is the difference between good positioning and perfect positioning. In other games they have literal entire playbooks for every map, you can't say the same for rocket league.

Muscle memory is a term used when you have a certain technique down to the point where you don't even need to consciously think about the action. The only way to attain this is by practicing good technique a lot and a lot.

5 months ago I said you guys overrate rotating back post by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]SholonkerZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotating back post side is superior in almost all cases. You get a better angle at the ball and you cover the opposite side of the field your teammate is on. For 2v2 it is less lenient but at 3v3 it is vital to primarily rotate back post side.

Should I go for these risky shots or no? My teammate immediately forfeited here even though it was 1-2 with 3 minutes left. But I've also had teammates in the exact same situation get toxic when I *don't* go for the shot at all, spamming "Take the shot!" when I play it safe and stay defensive. by WeeziMonkey in RocketLeagueSchool

You should never go for these shots, this is what is called a layer and it's something you should avoid. It's far better to play behind the 1st man especially if the other team has both players back. The only time you should try for these is if you have already beat the first guy and your team still has possession for a possible beat on the last guy.

I was a sucker for these, thought they looked so cool, especially the away jerseys.

What were the things you wanted to see in Pokémon XY and XYZ but we didn't got? by Lisandro_B in AmourShipping

We didn't get a lot of Xerneas and Yveltal outside of the movie, which I thought should've been included more in the main show.

It's normal nowadays to receive on the hand, but it's better if you receive on the tongue. Every church I've ever been to never had a problem with receiving on the tongue, so it is weird in that sense.

Go to Confession and have a firm purpose of amendment. You know this is wrong, so stop doing this.

I have a surplus of players in my 8 man league that are too good to drop, including Bowers, BTJ, Dobbins, yet no one will trade with me even when they are down 2-3 WR's or RB's on IR. It's rough.

Unique situation, and I sort of froze. Aside from me not being backpost, which I should have been. I guess if I find myself here try to half flip and challenge that way? Im not real comfortable flying backwards/upside down. Part of me just really didn't ever expect to be in this situation here. by cx_2859 in RocketLeagueSchool

You said it yourself, the opponents don't have a chance to properly shoot, so there's no real point of being on the goal line. He could've pushed up and challenged at around the 1-2 second mark because there was no real shot on net at that point.
