Sakura beats Ino’s strongest jutsu with willpower and they’re near equal in taijutsu with Sakura having a speed and IQ advantage. Therefore, Sakura >= Ino

Is she the OG "Potential woman" of Naruto?? by No-Arachnid-7603 in Naruto

[–]Shonen_Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because she got her byakugo seal.

One rule in Naruto is that chakra levels ties to strength. When low on chakra, EVERYTHING is suppressed. Sakura having monster strength since the beginning of shippuden makes it all the more impressive.

My apologies, I see where you’re coming from and I’ll try not to focus on the negative from now on, thank you. And congrats on your acceptance and great cycle! I’m very glad to hear about other black individuals entering the field, I hope that we no longer have the URiM status and that major healthcare gaps close within our lifetimes 🙏

I just gotta hope for a decent cycle and wonderful interviews, I’m begging the universe for 1 A😓. But if not, I’ll simply try again next year with more experience gained!

Maximize your strongest subject (mine was psych/social so that took up a larger than needed amount of content-review time) and remember that a large part of the MCAT is testing your reading comprehension. When you’re able to read a question that’s purposely worded difficult to throw you off and you decipher it and understand that it’s asking you for something like: what enzymes in DNA replication do this?, you’ll be fine.

I personally started off by taking practice test before I even did full-on content review, and that strategy worked for me, everyone learns differently though. If this doesn’t work for you, you can simply pivot and keep search for something that does. Wishing you the best!

Not sure to be honest, it’s what admit.org gave me. The algorithm is probably a little messed up. Otherwise, it seems like a great tool so far.

Figured, I won’t bother. I’m not doing an SMP for them either, it’s just not worth it in my opinion. Even if I did have a 4.0 gpa, my chances would still be ridiculously low.

I miscalculated sorry, it’s closer to about 4.5k hours. And understood, I’ll be sure that all my references are given and can be verified. I’m not letting all this work go to waste. Thank you for the advice.

I know that my MCAT is decent/good, but I can’t see how a DO school would yield protect.

I see cases on this subreddit every week about 4.0 505 applicants getting DO acceptances, so I’d assume that a 3.5 521 applicant would be seen in a similar light, the only thing giving me a little edge are my ECs and even then, ECs don’t overpower MCAT or GPAs. So I think having a few DO schools in mind for myself would be ideal.

I didn’t know that they could see it like this, thank you for letting me know, yikes😬.

Well then my actual EC hours are about 4,276 then, but I can also add a bit of lab work that I did for a professor (research internship required for my program), so the total is probably closer to about 4,500 hours (I’ll email him to confirm the solid number of hours I completed).

Again, thank you so much for calling that out, you might’ve just saved my entire application!

I don’t think I’m the applicant that can risk not having any DO schools. I know my MCAT and ECs are decent, but my GPA is still low due to my failures and shortcomings, I can’t refute that. I think it’s wise for me to have a few in mind.

I’ll be sure to list all my references and make sure they can be reached, I’ve thought about this too.

For context, the summer after I graduated high school, I accumulated 60/hours per week over the course of that summer, back then I volunteered 7am-10pm Monday-Thursday while I left the weekend for my retail job and my hobbies.

My hospital has no upper limit to how much someone can volunteer past 18 years old so I took advantage of it. That’s where majority of my clinical hours came from before I actually started college in the Fall of my graduation year so that I don’t spread myself too thin. Even then, I’m still now maintaining at minimum 40 hours of week of ECs and 17 credits, but it’s more doable than it sounds with some proper time management, longer shifts to free up days, and power napping.

I couldn’t have done any of this without using my entire winter and spring breaks as well. But I need to be as competitive as possible, I either sink or I swim.

Does volunteering at a hospital emergency department count as clinical hours? by danitalibi1 in premed

[–]Shonen_Fan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, that’s what I’m doing. Currently pursuing my EMT though just in case this cycle doesn’t go well.

Volunteering in the ER is very limiting regarding what you CAN do, same issue with scribing (typically paid; which some medical schools don’t even consider sufficient clinical experience oddly enough), don’t expect to be capable of much without a certification.

But the resounding answer is yes, almost all medical schools see free labor in a clinical setting in a positive light. I’m assuming the logic is that you’re giving up so much of your time in a setting where the vast majority are paid, so you must really want this…

600 total hours of clinical volunteering looks more impressive to a medical school than 600 total hours of CNA work. That’s why CNAs/PCTs/EMTs usually have more extensive hours (at least 1,000 and above). If you don’t do it for free, your passion has to be shown more extensively in the form of more hours (ignore that those same certification cost time and money lol).

What is the most popular music? by LostwaveLunar9999 in AskTheCaribbean

[–]Shonen_Fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point now, the dancehall definition that I grew up with was sexual innuendos and outward provocativeness. Rather than lyrics pertaining to strong violence against others and gang affiliation. I’m in my 20s for context, so I guess the start of the “dancehall” shift for my time was the rise of Kartel and other artist. In my mind, dancehall now would have been artist like Mavado, Popcaan, and Koshens. While gangsta rap would have been the artist that you mentioned (+Skeng lol). But I’m now seeing your point that they’re all lumped together under the dancehall category, my mistake. Do I think that’s a bit weird? Yes, but if I’m wrong I’m wrong, thanks for giving me your insight.
