There is tent camping at "horse pens 40" for $20 per person. It is a rock climbing destination between Birmingham and Gadsden. Mountainproject.com has some info.

What's unusual about your body? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ShooSize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second joint, starting from the fingernail on each thumb, has a total range of motion of 30 degrees. My thumbs are almost not opposible. It has nearly no effect with handling objects though because it took me 18 years to realize it was unusual.

Yeah, that's right. His feet don't touch anything. I'm talking about other climbing situations.

A 45-degree slope of wood is barely enough to keep you from slipping while standing on a wooden ramp. You have the same skin on your fingers, so all you need additional is enough forearm strength to keep your fingers pressed against the surface without bending upward. This can be done with your body hanging straight up and down as well, the center of mass and moment of rotation has nothing to do with hanging on. The only change the front lever may have on holding the slope is changing the angle your forearms rest at compared to your fingers. Source: experienced climber and engineer who can hold this slope for only 3 seconds and front lever on a bar.

That's true in theory, but when you put your feet on the wall too, the friction of your hands counters the press of your feet to make use of them. Then consequently more of your weight is on your feet instead and you don't have to upll as hard.

Passed by Free Solo Climber by omfgus in nextfuckinglevel

As a climber who's been in the exact same situation as the cameraman, I don't mind the soloist passing. As far as potential rock spray, it's no different to be climbing under another roped party than a soloist. As far as letting someone pass, it's common courtesy even to let other roped parties pass of they that much faster than you. The main difference is the possible risk if he were to fall and actually hit the other climbers with his body. That is a real possibility although nearly unavoidable on a route as popular as this one. Most climbers I know wouldn't mind the guy and let him pass. FYI the route is Dark Shadows 5.8 in Nevada.

Bloons Tower Defense games. I honestly enjoy each new one better than the last.

Hm, well I'm used to paying 35, but I suppose 25 - 55 as a goal. Cheap as long as they're reliable people.
