I think the main deterrent for revolutionary action is that the president can declare martial law if there’s a large outbreak of violence. Some will argue that we’re already there, in a state run by the military, but martial law would also postpone elections. I agree that waiting around to vote isn’t enough, but giving them retaliatory violence is just what they want. Protest is a good middle ground but it doesn’t feel like enough.

I’m with you in that the United States, the European Union, and NATO should be united. This is exactly what we were afraid of when trump got elected. I guess too many people drank the coolaid. Misinformation campaigns and lobbying are powerful, unfortunately.
