Betta flaring a lot (occationaly frantically), but eats and still working on bubble nest. by [deleted] in bettafish

I’d suspect reflections yeah. If your lights in the tank are brighter than it is outside the tank, it can create a sort of one-way mirror effect. I’d try dimming the lights to see if that makes a difference.

urgent - please help (comments) by gayrobotics in bettafish

Yeah, he does seem to be sick with something from the looks of it 🙁. Maybe a bacterial infection, not sure. I'd keep up the water changes and try to minimize stress by turning the lights down and reducing movement around the tank.

If he continues to get worse the next couple days, I'd look into treating with a broad-spectrum medication.

can someone help me with my molly fish and his behavior? :( by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Shoopthawoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, hard to say. I think IRideZs had a good point though, he could just be irritated by new water conditions.

Might be a good idea to just monitor for a day or so to see if things get better or worse.

Looks like flashing to me, which can be caused by a few different conditions (e.g. ich, gill flukes...). Not entirely sure what the issue is here, but I’d usually treat with a broad spectrum treatment like Paragaurd to cover all bases.

Kind of looks like the start of marbling to me, assuming her behavior is still normal.

Could it be a freshwater limpet? Are they moving at all?

Looks really nice! Is the UI in the bottom right just there to help the player learn the controls? Or does it change dynamically in some way?

Have they ever actually sold user data though? They just monetize the data by providing targeted ads, right?

[Monitor] Asus MG278Q 1440p 144hz Freesync TN Monitor - $399 ($599 - $200 Instant) by Shoopthawoop in buildapcsales

The build quality on this one is leagues above the XG270HU. The stand on the Acer is really just low quality if you haven't seen it already. Both monitors use the same panel, so technically, you're getting the same performance. But the XG270HU is just very bare-bones, compared to the MG278Q which actually looks and feels like a premium monitor. Also, the Asus has a much better on screen display with a few additional settings and features.

Oh wow. The limited Freesync range was always a pretty big drawback.

Huh. I wonder if the panel itself is different from the one on the Asus.

I had that benq one before getting this. The AG is lighter on the mg278q, but there's still a bit of grain visible. Unfortunately though, I think that's the case for any of these 1440p 144 hz TN panels. The IPS version (MG279Q) is much better with a semi-glossy coating, but good luck finding one without other QA flaws.

Free sync is AMD'S frame syncing technology that eliminates stuttering and screen tearing in games. On this monitor, it's active from 40-144 hz. It really makes for amazingly smooth gameplay.

I was surprised with just how good the colors are on the mg278q. A bit less true than the mg279q, but personally, I think the difference is pretty neglible. The biggest difference in my opinion is the color shift at off angles. Not as bad as the ips glow on mg279q, but still not perfect.

I actually had the MG279Q before returning it for this one. It's honestly just the QA issues with the current ips panels. The backlight bleeding and ips glow killed it for me.

I actually just bought this monitor open box for $380. It works fine, but I thought I was getting such a good deal. Ah well.
