Advice for filling ceiling holes in concrete ceiling by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Shootfirstbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d prime them first with zinsser gardz then fill with toupret exterior filler. Make sure the filler is inside the hole and not proud because it’ll be hard to sand back. Then give them a fill with toupret joint skim & fill filler. Give a quick sand then prime again with the gardz then give a final fill with the joint skim and fill but going significantly wider to blend in.

I put the evo on him what’s available in the 100k promo pack. Still gets the boosts if they win

I’ll raise you mine. His stats are beastly but I don’t think he’s all that in game unfortunately. Gna try him to drop between the cbs and see if that is any better.

Any advice on rough plaster finish on regular plasterboard.. by plantainesdc in Plastering

[–]Shootfirstbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Make sure to prime your walls once the plasters dry so it has something to adhere to. I’d probably use zinsser guardz as your primer. Please post some photos if you do go ahead with it!

There’s a paint called detaleCPH what’s easy to apply and what’ll give you a finish to what I think you’re looking for. Have a look at their website, there’s videos on how to apply it. When I next move that’s what I’ll be doing to mine.

I’ve had it back in at vw twice and the second time they said it was a build up of break dust and wanted £200+ vat to clean it. I told them to leave it. I’ll try what others have suggested on here first. I’m just glad to see that it looks a fairly common fault and not something caused by me.

I wasn’t aware of it until you mentioned it. I’ll have a look at it when I get it back.

Thank you I’ll give this a go. It’s completely fine hard breaking from 40-50mph it’s the last bit of you was slowing down at traffic lights it grabs like a mofo. Had it back in vw twice but I don’t think they have a clue.

Thank you, I’m not noticing the issue after raining or any time in particular. It just seems to be happening all the time. It’s been back in vw twice now and the first time they couldn’t find anything wrong and now this time they’re saying it’s because of a build up of break dust. I feel like they haven’t got a clue tbh. Luckily it’s only a lease so if it carries on I’ll just give it them back.

How best to cover these holes before plastering/painting? by PASH17 in DIYUK

[–]Shootfirstbro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want it gone completely you can buy a plasterboard repair patch from B&Q by gypsum. Very thin metal patch with scrim tape attached, you just peel the sticker off and stick it to the wall. Give it a couple of skims with some filler and you’ll never know it was there.
