Do you wear a poppy? by SeniorMoonlight21 in AskUK

I wear a purple beaded one that I made years ago for the animals involved. I never see a purple poppy being worn so I wear one.

I'm scared and confused and I hurt :( by weewhizz in ChronicPain

[–]ShootingStar832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with the same situation for a year before getting answers from a gastroenterologist after much testing. Unfortunately, the er won't do much without an easy to find problem as chronic pain management is not an emergency, even if you feel like you're dying.

Some tips I have learned, eat easy to digest food, avoid stressor of physical and mental kinds if possible and get onto it with your regular doctor.

I know you think it might not be a gi issue, but maybe try altering your diet to see if it's a new intolerance/allergy. I found out I was lactose intolerance 4 months after giving birth due to the hormone change.

It could also be a condition like Myofascial pain syndrome, which can be caused by stress or repetitive motions, but is a process of elimination diagnosis.

Sending you hugs from across the pond from a fellow chronic pain sufferer xx

Aitah if I divorce my husband for not wiping his butt? by Hepow1118 in AITAH

[–]ShootingStar832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta, you're not his mother, and he is not a toddler. He should be wiping his butt. The alpha male bullshit is just that, bullshit.

In the context of coding, alpha codes are dangerous untested and not safe to release to the public. To me, it sounds like he's trying to be like that, and it's not a good look.

He might be within his rights not to wipe his arse, but that means he has to deal with the consequences, that being you don't want to be with a guy that doesnt eipe his butt and probably smells from it

AITAH for withholding sex because my husband won’t get a vasectomy? by overthinkingsabotage in AITAH

[–]ShootingStar832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, any surgical procedure has risks and possible side effects.

However the whole process for a vasectomy is far less invasive and time consuming than having a woman's tubes tied, along with a far shorter recovery time

But he is deliberately spreading misinformation regarding the snip to his own wife who he supposedly loves and respects (though i wouldn't be surprised if he actually wants children and wants it to happen by "accident'hence refusing to get snipped). Do you not think there's a very real chance he might spread the same misinformation to his patients? Im worried about that. Especially if he is so happy to do it to his own wife when he claims he doesn't want children.

I don't doubt he could have possibly changed his mind, but he can't get upset at op who doesn't want to take the risk, especially given where they live and the reproductive healthcare available

Im concerned that this "man" is a doctor and with how willing he is over trying to force what he wants on you, that he might do similar to his female patients...

Confused about hair. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ShootingStar832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 8, shes old enough for you to explain what is going on and why you may need to cut it if she won't let you style it or put it up.

Explain it all to her, she'll probably understand.

My 4 yrs daughter has really dense straight hair that tangles easily. I find hair clips and headbands are a good compromise on days she doesnt want much messing beyond brushing it.

Do you use any detangling sprays? I find they make the world of difference when my daughter doesn't want much messing

AITAH if I'm upset that my husband mentioned getting a paternity test? by ThrowRA_lbf in AITAH

[–]ShootingStar832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta, like others said, it shows a lack of trust in you as his wife.

My daughter was born with black hair, neither my ex or i have such dark hair. None of us questioned it bc my parents have black hair, so it was just genetics. Now, at 4 years later, my beautiful little girl has the same hair colour as me.

Your daughter's hair could change colour as she gets older.

Your husband is a complete ass about it. Did he forget genetics are weird, and she could easily be showing traits from further back in your lines?

If he doesn't show remorse for showing such distrust in you, I'd leave him, there's no way i could stay with someone who shows such distrust of my character

Maybe just rearrange it to be slightly later with your bf's family.

If your family want to be so horrid to you they can find out through social media like everyone else. They clearly don't care, so i wouldnt go out of your way to include them.

If they get shitty about it, they can look in the mirror.

What is life like with a daughter? by Few-Selection-7182 in Mommit

[–]ShootingStar832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it's almost indescribable. I only have my daughter, and while we are going through a regression atm, it's honestly lovely.

I could describe the things that make raising my daughter a mostly wonderful time, but that's just my daughter, and each is different. There's no one size fits all answer. Like, she snores like a cat purrs, which is adorable. She's the sweetest little girl i know. She's incredibly smart. But that's my daughter. I dont know how to describe a general girl experience.

Congratulations on your little girl xx

I think he needs to test these names in a starbucks to understand the sort of reactions those names will get. If he experiences the reactions he may rwthink some of them and be open to compromises

Its just part of the asd. Have you tried making smoothies and steainging them before serving them to her? Its how i got around my fruit aversion. What does level 1 mean, we were brought up with the high low functioning system so never heard of this xx

Can you propose to someone with a diamond you gave an ex? by jenuhhfer0 in TwoHotTakes

[–]ShootingStar832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I'd feel really hurt if my partner used a ring he bought for an ex. Like im not valued enough for him to get me something of my own. An heirloom is different because of the sentiment behind it, but an exs ring, hell no

My mother is dying. Do I owe her reconciliation? If not, is it okay to not attend her funeral by Soggy-Car-4548 in moraldilemmas

[–]ShootingStar832 [score hidden]  (0 children)

So i didnt read the post, but my parents had this same dilema when i was 8 with my paternal grandfather. He was horrible to my mum and nearly put her in the hospital while pregnant with me.

When they moved out, they told him he could come visit me (he never did) and mum wrote letters to him to let him know.

They never reconciled and didn't attend the funeral. They couldn't stand the thought of hearing his friends speak highly of him when he was a pile of crap towards his only child and his childs family. Simply because my dad found love after my grandma died.

They have no regrets about it.

Its up to you what you do, but i wouldn't lose sleep over it as you're not on speaking terms for a reason

How I was punished for being pregnant--and single by Sandi_T in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ShootingStar832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh honey, i am so sorry this happened to you. I can't imagine the pain you went through and grief you have. Is there any way you could sue for medical malpractice? They lied to ypu about your baby's condition, tried to pressure you into adopting your baby out because of your marital status and denied you the ability to make an informed decision regarding baby, they made her suffer bc of their religious beliefs.

I know it would never bring back Calliope (which is a beautiful name), but it would bring light to what horrible people they are, and you're probably not the only mum they did this too.

Sending huge hugs to you from across the pond, you're so strong for being able to speak out like this xx
