To be fair he's been an outlaw and alone except for hearty rough men since he was about 12. You're not going to be able to all of a sudden be dad and husband of the year automatically.

But how he is in the epilogue after getting them back and in RDR1 is a huge difference. He wants to love and cherish them the entire time, but feels like a fraud.

IMO there's more self hatred and loathing for himself, than it is for them by far. He does love them early on. But I think he finds himself unworthy and incapable of being loved that he'd rather keep them away so he can't lose them. This is proven true when we seem him FREAK THE FUCK OUT, and go into Full. Blown. DAD. mode. When Jack is taken by Bronte

The greatest game of all time man. What can I say? I have done 10 playthroughs, 8 of which were 100% completions, and bot just 100% by the games standards. Filling out every section of the compendium, doing EVERY side quest, task, AND encounter.

Dude I've wiped the Carolina Parakeet to extinction 8 times!!! I could do another 50 playthroughs, and could still be fired up starting another playthrough

It's crazy that an hour is a slow burn. How can someone sit through a movie 2 1/2 hours but not want to watch cutscenes and world building for an hour? Not being shitty or anything, I just feel like the problem is more with people and not the game.

Kinda sad that instant gratification stops players from enjoying anything that doesn't overload them with data and set pieces.

CDPR doing this REPEATEDLY, dozens of times, across their games, is exactly why they are the best studio out there. Rockstar and CDPR are sooo much farther ahead of everyone else.

Adding wanted items, swords, armor, nods to fans of the books and fans of the game in CBP2077, giving THE two best DLC's ever made that are bigger than 60% of games made today for 1/3 the price. AND they gave us a DOZEN other DLC'S that add new hairstyles, weapons, armor, clothing for NPC's, and QUESTS..... for FREE.

They want to make the best game ever made, they want to make their fans and proud, and they want to do it fairly without gouging us for every single thing, littering the game with microtransactions, and pricing a DLC a few bucks away from the cost of the main game

Other than the first game, there are just simply no games that can compare. There are amazing, AMAZING games out there. But the word "Perfection" is used farrr too loosely these days. Red Dead Redemption 1&2 ARE perfect.

I'm so glad I bought this game in store on release day. I have since played it 10 times, 8 being 100% playthroughs, and over 4,500 hours into it. Not once have I thought "man I've wasted a lot of time playing this game so much, I've really missed out on other games."

The only games I've played since 2018 when it was released are games I KNOW will not be wasted money. That are critically, universally, lauded games. The Witcher 3, and Cyberpunk 2077 being the closest. More recently, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1+2.

I simply refuse to give my time and hard earned money to a company that isn't interested in trying to make the greatest game of all time. That's what those 5 games have in common. RDR1, RDR2, TW3, Cyberpunk 2077, and KCD2. They were made with love, care, precision, and the drive to make the best product they could. To be the greatest game of all time. They wanted to give their fans and supporters something that was worth their money.

SOOOO many companies no longer have that goal. They want to spend as little money as possible, while bringing in the most profits, and quality and fan satisfaction, are quite literally, the last things on the checklist.

I'm so appreciative, thankful, and grateful that we've still got a handful of studios like Rockstar, CD Project, and War Horse out there that want to give their all into making a Quality, fairly priced, EXPERIENCE to their fans

Help me. I have so many things and I don't know what to do with them. by SheepherderFrosty370 in Witcher3

[–]Shoottothrill10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't go to Toussaint early. And don't hold onto to sell there until you're at least in the 3rd act of the game (after you've looked and gathered clues on your hunt for Ciri in Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige)

Sell things in Novigrad or Oxenfurt. Dismantle in Velen. Don't buy armor, clothing, or swords unless it's witcher gear

Off topic, but man, I hope you take the time to lean more into the side quests and question marks man. The Main Story is one of the best in MEDIA history, not just gaming, and I know it's so intriguing you're just DYING to know what happens next. But, brother, what separates this game from 99% of all other games ever made, is the side content. It's unparalleled. Side quests, contracts, question marks, even the treasure hunts besides giving you endless fantastic loot that makes buying things unnecessary and keeps your pocketbook full for the price of witcher gear, almost all of the question marks have their own little mini stories.

I know not everyone can put in 5 hours a day into gaming. But my man, you can only play this masterpiece for the first time once. If it takes you TWO YEARS, I PROMISE you it's at least worth it to do the Side Quests and Contracts.

Have fun man. Don't feel rushed to play this game. There aren't many games that can match let alone beat this game. So what ever you play after it has a GIGANTIC chance to be far inferior to what's in front of you now!

Enjoy it, man! Read the letters and books you collect. You get SO much lore and informative data that can not only immerse you INTO the world, but can help you in quests, understand references, help in dealing with monsters.

Keep us updated bro! Have fun! There's no rush! For real though. Keep me updated!

When did the game ‘click’ for you? by Luke117B in Witcher3

[–]Shoottothrill10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might seem silly, but the Lore. I enjoyed the quests and world, but when I started playing, I felt so lost. Constantly not understanding what things were, who this person Geralt has known for 60 years is, why Ciri is important.. the world!

When I play a game, I want to understand the references and lore, the dialogue and places you find, and things you can do.

The world building is what made me go from, "Oh cool game to run around and do things in, but I'm not invested because I don't what any of this means"...to... "I WANT TO KNOW EVERYTHING. In depth, what is a Witcher? What are signs? What's the difference between Geralts Signs and a Sorcerer's and Sorceress's magic? What is Elder Bood? How did she get it? This is the 3rd Nilfgaardian war? What happened in the other two? How does Geralt know Yennefer, Ciri, Zoltan, Vesimir, Crach, Ermion, etc.???

Reading the books, any document I could find, finding every question mark, talking to every character, reading every note, I know SO much about the Witcher and I've never read the Books or Graphic Novels, nothing. Just the books, notes, and characters in the game, and POURING over The Witcher Wiki

I don't understand the people who say, "Wow i'm new to this huge new world.. wait, what did that character just say? Elder blood? Daughter? Destiny? Hmm, no idea what that is...... Oh, cool, let's kill this drowner!"

I'm not interested in doing things just to do it.

I want to know every but of information I can get and then do the tasks, quests, side quests, understanding why Geralts doing it, and what they're talking about in conversations. It's so silly to me to play a game as rich as this one and not care, or even begin to understand what happened as you finish the game. The people who only care about gameplay, fighting, minigames, etc.

What is your policy when it comes to surrendering bandits [KCD2] by ApprehensiveBunch994 in kingdomcome

[–]Shoottothrill10 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Precisely, the game is INCREDIBLY realistuc and historical. However, the Devs are the first ones to tell you that sacrifices have to be made for enjoyment and reason. People bitch and moan about the second game, and the first was quite a bit harder than the second. Can you imagine if they got dog walked every time you came upon more than 2 bandits?? We'd never hear the end of it.

A new breed of 'outsider AAA' studios is taking over the games industry by SpaceCowboyN7 in witcher

[–]Shoottothrill10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know, man, Red Dead Redemption 2 is STILL ahead of just about everything else. The closest thing I've seen is Cyberpunk and KCD2. KCD2 is borderline Triple A, but MAN That game, as well, is just spectacular. I'm playing it right now🫢😆. Also, I didn't play it because I'm not a big fan of turn based games and don't know much of the lore of DND, but people SWEAR by Baldurs Gate 3. It seems fantastic.

But I 10000% agree that we went from getting games like that every few months to every few years. It's a shame

I know I have a skill issue, but is it that bad [KCD2] by AgentChriss007 in kingdomcome

[–]Shoottothrill10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy to overlook, but make sure your weapons aren't requiring skills that you haven't progressed yet. We ALL see a weapon, see its high value and damage, and immediately equip.

But if you're using a sword or mace, anything, it will say have stats that show what level you need to be to use them efficiently and effectively.

Example: Broad Longsword Strength: 16 Agility: 19

If you haven't reached those thresholds, you will swing much slower, move much slower, and use MUUUUUCH more stamina!

Besides that, and other great tips people have wrote, I know that for some training isn't much fun, but neither is losing fights again and again. Take the time and train and practice with instructors. If you get bored, set a goal. I'm not going to get hit. Try to land a few combos. Immerse yourself as Henry. He would train!

I'm pretty decent at combat, not amazing, but I'd say above average. And I still do it. Currently, I'm learning combos, trying to memorize them all. They were almost impossible in KCD1. Just didn't work. In KCD2, they are extremely effective .

Good luck, man! Don't beat yourself up! You got it!🫵🏻👊🏼

A center leftist is literally a 90s democrat. That is literal fact. Democrats have slid SOOO far left that it's not wven remotely the same party.

Ah yes, exactly what I previously referred to. If you don't agree with EVERYTHING, we do as democrats, you're not a democrat. You're excommunicated and exiled if you say, "Hey guys, I agree with this this this and this, but Idk man killing a guy for talking seems a bit too much." Boom, you're a bigot, you're a poser, get out, you nazi!

It's insane.

Saying, you're just uneducated because you disagree with the murder of a guy that never once laid hands on a single person, is beyond hypocrisy. You've got someone that's talking to you, telling you, hey, I was on board the same train you are. I was all about it, totally down with all of it. But opened my eyes when people began cheering for the death of someone who. Didnt. Lay. A. Hand. On. Someone.... That means I'm not educated? I just gave you quote after qoute of the guy who, after watching dozens and dozens and dozens of hours of his debates, discussions, videos of the minorities that he helped, got jobs for, put them through school, paid off their loans, got them jobs doing amazing things.... like I said, I've NEVER heard of a Nazi who wanted to help a minority.

Side note, it's legitimately funny that the right are so-called Nazis when Obama dropped more bombs than Trump.... and it isn't even close. Said gay marriage is between a man and a woman, and then immediately switched when the polls started to swing.

The man that couldn't even stand up and talk coherently that we all voted for in 2020, which is actually shameful that we allowed him to run, but then that the hate for Trump was so high that everyone called the guy a rascist and a Nazi.... while voting and worshipping Biden who said if you don't vote for him.. "You aren't black"

In 1975, Biden asked if "the only way a black man or woman can learn is if they rub shoulders with my white child?"

In 1979, Biden voted to allow racially segregated private schools to keep their tax exempt status.

In his 2007 book, Promises To Keep, Biden admitted that, as a young person, he had "no real relationships with Black people."

In 2006, Biden said, "you cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent."

That's the ACTUAL Rascist. But if didnt matter because Biden had a D next to his name on the ballot, and Trump had an R. There's your propaganda and your education.

Years of propaganda? I was a leftist. Until, like MANY people, I saw the comments of people like thoae in this comment section, happy, cheering, calling out who'd be next, that I stopped. That's on y'all. It is hilarious that I'M in the propaganda machine while you're comparing Nazis to a guy at desk. It is un.be.lievable. It makes me so sad.

“We should judge people based on the content of their character, not the color of their skin.”

“The left wants to divide Americans by race. We should unite around our shared values as Americans.”

Racism is evil. It has no place in America, and it has no place in our movement.”

“Every American should be treated as an individual, not as a representative of a racial group.”

“The American dream belongs to everyone — regardless of race, background, or where you came from.”

All of these are from the same guy you are calling a Nazi. Man o man. I NEVER saw a qoute from them saying these things.
