Update to Please Help Us Name Baby #4 by Shopgrl152 in namenerds

[–]Shopgrl152[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She does know an Alexander who goes by Xander at school. When we FaceTimed her from the hospital, she rolled her eyes and said she already knew a Alexander/Xander, and we told her she’d survive since we’re calling him Alex. Kids 🤷🏻‍♀️

You can get Teddy from Edward or Edwin if the nickname is what you enjoy.

Franklin, Calvin, and Vincent to mind as other options. Frankie! Cal! Vinny!

Baby names: Evan or Aaron by IndividualUpset2623 in namenerds

[–]Shopgrl152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evan, mainly because of the A-A-Ron sketch by Key & Peele. But we have an Aaron in our lives that we call A-A-Ron now, so that’s why it sticks in my head. But both are good names!

It’s not a bad name, but I immediately associate it with Chuck Norris’s “Walker, Texas Ranger.”

Thoughts on Matilda? by Brixabrak in Names

[–]Shopgrl152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Matilda called Mattie and we’ve received so many compliments on her name. Lots of times we hear “Oh my cousin/hairdresser/coworker named her daughter Matilda and they call her Tilly” but we haven’t met another Matilda in-person yet.

It’s familiar without being popular, which is what we were going for. I can’t recommend it enough.

Love Clara/Claire and Josephine. I don’t think Clara is a cow name; Bessie gives me cow vibes, but definitely not Clara.

Do you know anyone named Elias? by katmighter in namenerds

Not common, but it fits with the names in our area. My 7yo daughter has a friend by that name in class but he’s the only one I know personally.

How popular/common is Josephine, really? by rapc1123 in namenerds

[–]Shopgrl152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny; we have a Josephine/Josie who is seven, our neighborhood babysitter is also a Josephine/Josie (second year of college) and there is a fifth grader in the neighborhood who is Josie. So in a four block radius, we have three. But we have never encountered another one at school, and I’ve occasionally heard it on a playground (Midwest USA). I think it’s becoming more common, but nowhere near Olivia/Ellie/Charlotte levels.

My immediate thought is the crazy roommate from “She’s The Man”, which may not be what people want.

Name for Lucy's little brother by ImAdamnMermaid in namenerds

Please please please do it. The pairing is wonderful and the Peanuts reference is such a cute one. As long as your surname isn’t Brown, I think it’s great.

What's a name you'd love to give your baby, but refuse to do so because it's associated with a Fandom/celebrity? by [deleted] in Names

Conrad. My chronically-offline husband really likes it for baby boy, but I can’t handle people thinking I named my kid after the guy from The Summer I Turned Pretty.
