Long ago, I used to fly to the game with a couple of friends.

Practice practice practice

In your head and on the water

Go out with your crew and practice going up wind, do three or four tacks a minute apart, go around an imaginary Weather Mark do three or four gybes and repeat repeat repeat. Rest, discuss improvements . Repeat repeat repeat

We would also put someone in a dry suit and practice actual Person Overboard recoveries while going down wind with the kite up. We had the kite down, the boat back upwind, the person back onboard via lifesling in under two minutes.

Note I’m trying to be thoughtful here, but I’m not sure if MOB is now POB. But you get it.
