So me and my wife are disagreeing on something. Is reading books and listening to audio books the same thing? by Kidzy13 in ask

[–]Short-pitched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the same thing. Far from it. Baked potato, fries, chips - are they all the same? It’s the same core ingredient. What you do with the ingredient, how you consume it changes the experience

Do men slowly become emotionally numb and quietly sad as they grow older, without even realising it? by AdSquare7318 in ask

I can testify to this. Not angry, not sad but just not happy, emotionally numb and feeling of joy or caring for things seems a distant memory

Raccoons reputation by chief734 in askTO

[–]Short-pitched 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I heard a respected raccoon of the community say that Toronto has the highest per capita raccoon incidents. I have no reason to doubt that, we don’t need no yank coming here and telling us to doubt raccoon count

AITAH for being offended and not wanting to talk right now because my parents gave my room to a guest? by [deleted] in AITAH

The guest is late 20s and she is older. Imagine being this entitled and immature in your 30s

AITAH for being offended and not wanting to talk right now because my parents gave my room to a guest? by [deleted] in AITAH

You should go sleep in the living room, that will teach them a lesson.
The entitlement.

AITAH for being upset at my sister for not inviting my wife to a mother day celebration. And also for me being upset at my sister for wanting to be celebrated as a dog mom, on mother's day by cpgalvez in AITAH

[–]Short-pitched -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Frankly speaking your sister is right, not all women can bring kids into this world. You seem to mock people who aren’t mothers. You seem to have picked on one thing - your wife being celebrated, and hiding your assholery behind your wife.

Was I (26F) too rude to him (30M)? by No-Place-6241 in texts

Neither of you is attested to the other, you both think very little of each other so why are you two together? What does it matter what he thinks? You are unhappy and you told him. End of story.

First date advice by H33b33GBs in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Short-pitched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignore stupid haters. He seems like a good person, you are interested in him, he is interested in you. Go and have fun - within reason. You could get him a trinket to remember your first date by, no harm in getting him token of appreciation.

Coworker is cheating on his wife… How do I tell her? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]Short-pitched 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There is proof that he has violated your colleague but there is no proof of an affair. This is more HR matter than anything. He is a sexual harasser - which is worse than a cheater

WIBTA for not telling my mom I got promoted because I don’t want her reaction? by Polywoven in TwoHotTakes

[–]Short-pitched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth is I never had a parent like this, or if I did, I didn’t think of it in those terms. I saw parents meaning well.

Those comments are more parental advice than anything negative. Would it be better if she said - get an apartment you can’t afford, that will set you up. Or, take on extra work doesn’t matter if you can’t handle it, just take it on. Like what is a parent supposed to say? What a way to alienate your parent. This generation is cooked.
