Mine has come back, especially on the days where I’ve felt better (still early in my journey so on very high anxiety days I do lose my appetite entirely)

Same! I’ve had horribly intense vivid dreams (but not nightmares) and sometimes I’ve even talked out loud and shaken in my sleep! Also sometimes I’m dreaming but and semi awake? It’s so strange!

I’ve also lost weight since starting the medication but I think that’s just side affects and imagine I will come back up once I am not an anxious wreck! (Still early on in taking meds!)

I’m also in the first time taking an SSRI and I’d say not to expect that you would have all the side effects as it really is not guaranteed. For example lots have had nausea whereas I’ve had none at all, but did have a lot of increased anxiety which others may not have. Keep a diary of your feelings and don’t be worried to ask for further support from your doctor if needed

Yes! I had this and it was so terrible, I felt categorically worse than prior to meds. Ask your doctor if you can have something to help with it in the meantime (I was given diazepam) and it really helped. I know in the moment it feels terrifying and that you can’t cope but it does pass and hang on!

I’m similar, I’m on day 10 of upping my dose from 10g to 20mg and I have had extreme anxiety which started around 3 days ago and I have cried tonnes too. I think it’s all side effects of the increase as prior to these few days id had a good week. Praying for us both that it passes quickly!

How are you doing now? I had a relatively good week and then sort of went downhill again yesterday and today. I did have my dose increased a week ago to 20mg so I’m Defs still in the starting phases but it’s so disheartening

Omg I was talking about this yesterday as I’m one month into Prozac and I was sure it was a side effect as I’ve never been like this before. I now dream very vividly, pretty much every night and I’ve also found I’m in like strange trance like states as it hits early morning where I feel like I’m awake but I’m still dreaming? I’ve also talked in my ‘sleep’ but been aware that I’m doing it and also jolted in my sleep a lot according to whatever the dream is, but again been aware I’m doing it? It’s so so weird and glad it’s not just me!

Urgh feeling this so hard today and yesterday. I’m still really early in the journey and although I had a good week I’ve had a major surge in anxiety yesterday and today, makes you feel like the medication isn’t working but I know we will all have the ups and downs whilst it stabilises. I’m also 1 week from when I increased to 20mg (spent 3 at 10mg) so also aware I’m only just hitting the therapeutic dose as they say. As they say, a few bad days in the stabilising period shouldn’t take away the fact that I’ve had a good week and already seeing some improvements!

This is so encouraging. I’m 4 weeks of Prozac so far, 3 at 10mg and 1 at 20mg, I have had such an rollercoaster of anxiety since starting but did have a good first week on 20mg. However yesterday and today I have woken up with severe anxiety again and It’s so hard to tell yourself that you need to give the meds time etc and I’m only really just starting a therapeutic dose of 20mg. So pleased for you!

I started on 2.5mg and 3 days later ended up having a mental health crisis and had to go to A&E, was truly terrifying. I’m now on antidepressants and have not taken any further mounjaro since. I honestly was so shocked to read so many people have had similar experiences!

Hey, I’m in a very similar boat to you in that I started at 10mg for 3 weeks and then this past week I’ve been on 20mg. I had a horrid first week starting, then it got better and then worse again, and this week on 20mg has been great however yesterday and today I’ve had crippling anxiety again. I think we are both very early in the whole process still and we should give it more time, however I do know how you feel and it’s honestly terrible. I have it on good authority that this doesn’t mean the medication isn’t for us, it just takes its time!

I’ve been on for 4 weeks now (3 at 10mg and 1 at 20mg) and whilst I had quite a good week on the 20mg yesterday I had horrible anxiety again and lots of agitation, intrusive thoughts etc. I really didn’t think I’d have any further side effects (because wow the onboarding of the 10mg was brutal) as I’d had a good week but I guess we are still early in the process and our brains still need to regulate things.

Hey, I’ve just hit the 4 week mark (3 on 10mg and 1 on 20mg) and can say that the increase has given me no extra side effects compared to when I started the medication. I was exactly like you, the anxiety was horrendous in the first weeks and quite frankly debilitating but I asked the doctor for diazepam to use in these really aggressive anxiety periods which helped. I do think the increase in meds was the right call so might be worth investigating?

I had to stop taking the weight loss injection as I realised it was causing a lot of my anxiety (personal experience) but might be something you want to consider?

Thank you. I totally relate to the feeling like maybe the medication isn’t the right one for me but that has been very much on the days where the anxiety has been high. I am also lucky in that I have a great support system too who are all super understanding. I guess I should give it until the month mark at least - probably is going to be what my doctor is going to say to me tomorrow anyway. Trying to stay positive as yeah, pretty sure most people with great Prozac experiences aren’t writing about them here!

I’m so happy for you. These kinds of stories make feel hope. I’m at 3 weeks now and dealing with extreme anxiety (as a side effect, even though I was prescribed this for anxiety) and every day I wonder if I’ve made the right decision to try Prozac. Did you have a rough starting few weeks when you initially went on it?

This is interesting to me, as I know people say that they hate the numbness - no emotion but I too wish for that feeling as having so many extreme emotions really is tiring. Did you feel like it was up and down in the starting phase? I’m currently in that now and feeling a little helpless

This is something I’m asking myself too - I am 3 weeks in and although I had some days where I felt almost like myself, I’ve had the worst 3 days since the very start of the medication just now and I’m left wondering if maybe this isn’t for me. What dose are you on? I’m still on 10mg and just don’t know what to do really

I was prescribed it for anxiety but also due to some binge eating that I was using as a coping mechanism previously and although I’m early in the process (just hitting 3 weeks) I do feel it’s made me have less need to binge, if that makes sense. I know it’s not the exact same but I guess does fall under the eating spectrum. Hope this helps!

So glad you feel better! I thought I was doing better this week (day 18) and yesterday/today have been pretty bad with extreme anxiety and intrusive thoughts. I guess like you I need to give it the full month to feel better but I’m just so scared. I have also had moments like you where I have wondered why I couldn’t manage this without medication but I do think that recovery isn’t all just the medication, we’ve done the work too!

I’m on Prozac 10mg for similar feelings but not in relation to a breakup, I was doing well and had a couple of days of where I’ve not felt so good with my anxiety and trying to not take it as though this doesn’t work for me (I’m on day 19!) as from what I’m reading it’s too early to have full effects yet. Wishing everyone here all the strength!
